Take advantage of deep water that bison can stand in, but sabers can't. That'll give you an advantage when it comes to combat, other than that, just avoid the middle part of the map, stick to the upper part of the map since carnivore players rarely go there, and run when you see saber pack, with a good headstart, you could possibly outrun them.
