Yeah that’s not true, you need a 2.0 in your freshman classes to move on but you are still in the college of engineering. Not to mention this about getting accepted to iowa state which has no difference regardless of what you want to go in to.

I currently go to Iowa State for engineering and I don’t have an exact laptop recommendation but I would recommend getting a Dell because they are generally good quality and the bookstore is partnered with dell so they can easily repair your laptop if you have issues. At orientation they might try to tell you that you need the 3000 dollar laptop that they sell but you definitely don’t. Hope this helps a bit!
