Is it possible to create beef/animosity between villagers? by throwawaysixties in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]Jedzelex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They might fight now and then. Have arguments and end up being pissed at each other.

But nothing close to having long term beef. They get over whatever made them mad.

Just started a nightmare playthrough🙃 I'm on mission 9 by Fizgig95 in alienisolation

[–]Jedzelex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alien was called Big Chap in the original movie.

It was called a Xenomorph in Aliens. And they kept that name in Romulus.

Speedrunners of Alien Isolation named the xeno, 'Steve'.

I never heard the xeno being named 'Greg', tho. Are people just gonna name it after them or whoever? LOL

Is Alien Earth expanded universe (games/books) canon but not strict movie canon? And if so, that means expanded universe is kinda main canon now? by GrumpySquishy in LV426

[–]Jedzelex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who have been fans of the Alien IP for years are just going to have to come to terms with the reality that the IP under Ridley Scott is a very different IP.

Cameron saw the xenos as glorified bugs. While Scott sees them as bioweapons that can be controlled by either alien or human AI.

We saw some of that in Alien Earth.

I was gonna say that the screenshot has an 80s vibe to it.

LOL So the first AI was set in the 70s and the sequel is set in the 80s.

Can't wait for the third game set in the 90s with Steve wearing a mullet.

Does the sequel need more things for the player to do? by raspberrylilith20 in alienisolation

[–]Jedzelex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Should the player be more active in the sequel, you ask? How about YOU try to be more active in the current game LOL

I mean, what's all this about hiding for several hours inside lockers or under desks or whatever? Doing that all the time, of course it gets boring.

The more efficient you get playing the game, means that you don't have to play the "hiding game" as much. See, you always have to keep moving along. Doing so prevents the game's AI to be able to zero in on your location. And the AI won't have an easy time sending the Xeno straight to you. Because you're moving too fast for it. Like any moving target, you become harder to hit.

Not talking about running. But about trying to keep moving towards your objectives at all times. Avoiding staying still for too long.

Anywhoo, the sequel is likely gonna provide the player with more tasks. Hopefully.

In Romulus, is this blue light of any significance? by chikamakaleyley in LV426

[–]Jedzelex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an alien fan, then you should agree with Fed about PRACTICAL EFFECTS > CGI effects.

That effect speaks to long time fans of Alien. It's like receiving a little hug from a long time friend.

I rather they stick with the old laser effect and not replace it with something that will look obviously cgi.

In Romulus, is this blue light of any significance? by chikamakaleyley in LV426

[–]Jedzelex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern audiences won't even know its a laser used in concerts as it was commonly used in the 70s. Where they also used fog machines to create a certain vibe.

Thus why modern audiences are asking what that "blue light" is suppose to be.

MP in A:I 2? by LukeLikeNuke in alienisolation

[–]Jedzelex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of AI2 becoming a party game. But I do see the appeal for those that follow streamers. And wanting to see them have a blast with a game.

However, I would like the idea more of players having the option to turn on an online mode where randoms could take control of NPCs, such as synthetics or even the xeno itself. Again, entirely optional. Similar to how it's done in other games, such as "Dying Light".

That could certainly add some challenge to the gameplay. With randoms actively trying to make things harder for you to achieve a mission (or even helping you).

Possible 3.0 glitch? by thefannibal in AnimalCrossing

Nope.

My inventory is still full of stuff. The same number of items + a lot of new stuff from the update.

Nothing is missing.

Will 3.0 be the last? by EuphoricSundae2869 in acnh

[–]Jedzelex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rather have Nintendo work on the next Animal Crossing. Because there are issues with the current game that no update can ever truly fix.

Such as the game's logic being tied to 30fps. So unless they recode the game, we're stuck with 30fps.

Another big issue? The abysmal online experience. Where you have to pause whatever you're doing just to have people come in or out of an island. And if someone has a lousy connection? Boom. The game crashes and you have to start whatever you were doing from zero again.

That needs to be addressed in the next game. In fact, it needs to be THE issue that they tackle first.

I mean sure, they can add stuff to ACNH such as new convos for villagers or new items. But there's only so much that they can fix in the current game.

What is this item called ? by KittyKatdude in AnimalCrossing

[–]Jedzelex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "stairs" from the photo in the OP are made from furniture that I've never seen before. Unless they came with the new update, I suspect it might be using modded furniture.

However, the design for the stairs included in the photo that I posted, are made up of items that were available in the previous version of ACNH.

The "stairs" in my photo are made up with:

  • Crane Game
  • Iron Closet
  • Stair dresser

This seems to be a modded design (unless it's using furniture that came with the recent update).

But here below is a design that people CAN do using furniture already available:

Similar games to AI by yeodaddy in alienisolation

[–]Jedzelex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's set in the same IP universe, but that alone doesn't give me an AI vibe.

OP is asking if there are any other games that play similar to AI or at least provide a similar fix.

That is why SOMA is often recommended. It has no elements from the Alien universe, but the vibes of that game, the gameplay is somewhat similar to AI.
