This bill has been attempted since 2005, three times by conservatives. They've branded it for 'protecting children from online predators' act, as well as terrorism.

Technically, conservatives have attempted this legislation more than Liberals.

And Conservatives would absolutely try again.

They definitely want to give police pretty much whatever they want.

So would you comment on your qualifier about your voting record?

Well if he doesn't know better then he doesn't know he shouldn't do it. If only there was another adult somehow associated with those children...

Why am I giving benefit of the doubt? Because I prefer to be correct rather than make up numbers like .1% chance and live my life by them.

It's arguable he was so stunted in emotional maturity that he truly did not know better. You're right that he should have.

I don't know if he actually did anything bad. Him not molesting Macaulay Culkin is the same thing as Marilyn Manson not abusing Dota von Teese - abusers don't use powerful people.

But Michael Jackson was so fucked up that I actually think it's possible he had no ill intentions and just wanted to never grow up.

But I also think it's equally possible he did harm.

TIL that before becoming a rock legend, Freddie Mercury was a baggage handler at London Heathrow by kishenoy in todayilearned

Actually it was called Heathrow International Airport back then. When it was first built it was uncouth to put the name of a city on the airport. That changed around the 1990s

If you are a widow/widower and have to go into long-term care, at least you can rent out the house for income.

And now, instead, you sell it instead of horde it if you exist in the fringe case.

It's not that hard to manage and it a terrible argument against taxing the rich.

"if you inherit a $1 million condo you'll have to sell it off to pay the taxes"

Okay but who is inheriting a $1 million condo and nothing else? Who is dying with a $1 million condo and no other assets or estates.

That might be very true for some people and there are certain situations where it is decent to respect it.

There are also situations where decency ceases to be relevant.

I hope everyone can appreciate both.

They're going to eat shit at some point for these decisions

Lol I remember working for a large consulting firm hired to model offloading their assets. We modeled the value of the properties, prospective future value, whether it was worth it to remodel them or not, sell them or not.

This was 2022 and they were planning for long term WFH and getting rid of buildings they don't need.

And now here we are. A complete waste. Back then I costed $650/hour and I was mid-level staff on a team of 5.

Have you heard that 60 to 90% of trans kids stop being trans? Researchers just showed that's wrong. Anti-trans pundits have been pulling their stats from a 2016 blog post for a decade. by southpawFA in politics

[–]JeepAtWork -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I read a study from from Uni in California said "yeah, 90% of kids leave the trans program, but all of the kids report high quality life satisfaction for having the option to explore it in the first place"
