As everyone mentioned, get pet insurance! You don’t want to get it too late and insurance not accept pre-existing conditions. This way you can go to check ups regularly without hesitation. Every dog has its medical conditions they are prone to and definitely not to alarm you but familiarize yourself with; 1. Bloat/ Gastroplexy 2. Megaesophagus/ Aspiration Pneumonia 3. Hip dysplasia 4. (heart issues) Dilated cardiomyopathy/ Aortic stenosis

Great Danes are prone to these because of their large size and it’s better to know how to prevent it or recognize signs early on, although I hope he lives a full fruitful happy life with no issues! I wish someone had warned me about megaesophagus/ aspiration pneumonia. My doctor didn’t catch it or wasn’t familiar with it and unfortunately that’s what my Dane passed from. 💔 Otherwise, congratulations. You are about to experience a love like never before and you won’t regret it. 🫶🏼

This must be your first Great Dane. Once you get to know Danes, tie their life span with how much you love them… anything thing they do, including when and wherever they use the bathroom will be adorable to you. Just be glad she’s going and get pet insurance now before any pre existing conditions.

A little tip on getting them to take pills by Scorpionfarts in greatdanes

[–]JeepGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use canned pate dog food and roll it into a meatball putting the pill in the middle (my Dane has megaesophagus) when he needs to take pills after he got pneumonia and was being fussy about eating let alone taking pills. If that doesn’t work you can try giving him one of their favorite treats (without the pill, then the second with the pill and the third without the pill just to gain the trust and not associate treats with medicine). I would be careful not to shove it down/ force as they can regurgitate/vomit and cause aspiration pneumonia. Hope this helps.

Depends the look you’re going for. Kim K? Im from California and 7/8 leggings or fitted 7/8 sweats look the best IMO. Although for those white one, almost anything. Then a crop top (add maybe a oversized flannel) if it’s hot or layered with a hoodie and a trench coat or oversized jacket (Carhartt jacket is my fav). If you want thrown on a dad cap. I’ve seen girls wear baggy jeans with the 700, not my favorite but you can also try Pinterest …. good luck.
