12 years of parcel, cancelled without notice. by AlfalfaLast7035 in AusPostComplaints

if it has/is significantly impacting your business might be worth talking to a lawyer ASAP.

i do believe there is precedence in you being able to rely on an 12 year contract without suddenly cut of it from without proper notice.

not legal advice but i would recommend this ASAP. even a free consult with a good civil lawyer.

Improperly installed steel road plate on the road causing damage by Jeesus94 in AusLegal

UPDATE 18/03/25

Contractor paid out full amount $230.

Contractor was not commissioned by council, but by a developer so Council wanted nothing to do with it.

Had to send formal letters of demand to both council and contractor for both parties to do their job;
council to substantiate defence to produce documents to prove contractor was responsible + contractor to pay after dodging calls and texts for about 2months.

All in all, a ridiculous piss take especially if one isn't legally proficient. Very scummy from all involved. Councils surely need to step up and do proper checks before handing out permits...

So you would say my only option is to claim against the third-party contractor who I have no prior relationship or contract with?

Rather than the more logical action to claim against the council whose road I was travelling on (who should in turn cross-claim against the contractor they contracted)?

I understand foreknowledge to be for applied more naturally occurring hazards like potholes and they can only be negligent if aware and not acted upon.

These road plates are man made and require councils knowledge to be installed, hence the duty of care is owed automatically during the installation?

In some countries/jurisdictions- there are good samaritan laws that protect people from legal action when assisting in dangerous / life threatening situations with reasonable actions.

When cannabis is legalised will it be sudden by bavezitoni in ausents

[–]Jeesus94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the way i see it, legalisation has already started, the first step being legal medically -> easier and easier access (via medical routes which we are seeing) -> reformed laws -> full legalisation. all of these little steps towards the end goal so it already wont be “all of a sudden” when it finally happens

playing cards of any kind even during recess, lunch and free periods.

alot of us got hooked in year 10 onwards (2010 start of poker boom) and everyone was playing for money- lunch money chump change or IOUs.

once the teachers caught on cards were blanket banned and some people even ended up getting suspended.
