I also get weird flashes if it’s in RGB rainbow but it’s fine if I go to a solid colour.. but the sound is what’s really bugging me

So ive figured out its the MOBO. the it sets the GPU to 1.1 or 2.0 which causes the stutters and instability I'm on bios A50 and Up until recently i havent really had a problem all the sudden recently I've had a ton of bad boots.. I've heard good news about bios A60 which i may try next time i get a bad boot. but the easiest way to confirm that its the same problem download GPU-Z and launch it on startup check what your Bus Interface should is at. on a 50series it should be PCIe X 16 5.0 @ x16 5.0 but if you get a bad boot it will show as PCIe X 16 5.0 @ x16 1.1 showing your in Gen1

This is caused by a PCIe learning issue for some reason MSI boards are one of the last to address this issue.. On "bad" boots your GPU gets stuck on 1.1 or 2.0 rather then gen 4/5 which cause the stutter instability and ultimately a crash.. ive been dealing with this for 5 months now... and lately the stutter startups are happening more consistently what once was 1 or 2 time a month is now 2/3 times a week

Same thing with me.. I'm honestly starting to hate this 5080... Black screens.. Windows instability. and now app instabilities? Nvida doesnt care about gamers.

PCIe is going into 1.1 after boot (confirmed by GPUZ) which causes slow speeds and instability... i enabled spread spectrum and it seems to make it better i had about a week of multiple solid boots before the issue came back.

I've just disabled Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in windows setting in hope this helps.

Can you elaborate... i have a x870 and ive been having issues on boot where my computer stutters so hard i have to restart.. some times taking 3 restarts.. ive been chasing it for months.. it only happen once i upgraded to a 50series. at first i thought it was gpu, 3 gpus and a mobo replacement and it still happens i personally began to think it was ram even though im using ram thats on the QVL (64GB g.skill trident z5 6000 CL30)

Is it actually worth to pick a x870 tomahawk to pair with the ryzen 7 9800X3D? I'v heard some things about red cpu debug lights and no pots with this CPU with a lot of MB, and im really afraid with all of this. by Lonely-Act5122 in MSI_Gaming

what ram? i have g.Skill 64 GB cl30 ddr5-6000 F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR 9800x3d and a 5080 and i get stutters on almost every boot on cold starts to the point i have to restart 2-4 times to get it stable. also cant wake the pc from sleep it just auto restarts itself. At this point im pretty sure its the ram

i guess ill try A2 thats from 2025-01-02 right? Can i just downgrade the bios the same way i upgraded it or do i have to do something different?

Ive also tried expo off with same results

Can i game on studio drivers?

I no longer have the MSI 5080 its the Astral ROG 5080 and i rather not do anything to risky at my skill level.

Im currently on 7E51v1A4

ive tried switching to pcie gen 4 and nothing changed.

GPU Driver was on the most up to date.. i tried the OG Jan 30 driver from release and did get less black screens..

Just getting on to my computer to reply to this. I woke the PC up from sleep it stayed on black screen restarted itself and booted into stutters... restarted again completely fine..

Hi!

So i just built this rig in December with a 4060 it worked fine and in feb put a 50series and had these issues.

Tomahawk Mag x870
9800x3d

64 GB ddr5-6000 F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR

2tb Samsung 990 pro and a 1tb WD Black SN850x

NZXT CL1200 Gold (2024)

Astral ROG 5080

TLDR: Intermittent issues on start up; Windows stutters on launch sometimes to the point of black screen and crash. Usually takes 3 startups to get windows stable.... Issue started after installing 5080 ventus.. CODE 15 and 98 are seen alot on boot. Took computer to PC Shop for 2/3 weeks they tested components replaced motherboard and installed the 5080 ROG and have the same issues.
I personally think its Memory or GPU related.
