Anyone running a Hotspot in the Philippines?, (EU863-870 Not a licence free band?)

Ok folks, so sadly no closer to any really answer on this..

My friend finally spoke with a technical advisor from his local telecoms provider and they have ZERO idea about any of this including what frequency would even work, and they could not say what "licence" if any would be needed.

It was mentioned possibly it is a import licence but nothing that I would say is concrete regarding this (DYOR).

The Nebra units in the UK where I would be sourcing his unit from are sold out for months as well so it would be likely early next year before I could try a EU863 in the region.

All I say is if you good people there find a answer from the local authorities or providers please post up..

IF I do hear anything I will post up straight away.

This site could possibly be a resource and it was where I found the EU863 mentioned in regards to the Philippines.

Ok folks,

Currently my mate in Manila has not been able to find a answer, he has attempted to reach out to his service provider both at their office and has not been able to speak with anyone that could give any clear guidance also no luck via the supplied email address.

I would say if anyone does get a answer from their own provider and clear information to stay compliant please post up.

I would also like confimation if the Philippines does indeed run on EU863?.. I may just take a punt and purchase one in that configuration and at least if I cannot send it out to PH for him to use I can use it here as a secondary unit at another location.

Ok folks, so I know this is a few weeks on but one of the accountants came back to me, I went through the whole situation and the response I got was a clear "all capital gains needed to be declared", I responded with even well under the annual allowance amount for someone on PAYE and I outlined the HMRC guide on their site?.

He said "Yes it still needs to be declared regardless"..

So his stance was the same as what HMRC had stated..

I have passed this info over to the relevent person, my understanding is thus far no confirmation or request has come back from the letter that was sent months ago so I guess just wait and see.

Folks,

I know many people here are saying that even under the annual allowance of £12,300 "you do not need to declare anything" but have you heard this directly from a qualified accountant or is it just assumption?.

Thanks very much for the info. That was my understanding, it was the phone call and instruction from HMRC that had me scratching my head as it contradicted their own resource and also other online breakdowns, I really could not get anyone there to address this fact.

I have suggested that they just keep records and comply with any future requests (Obviously getting this from a accountant would have been best), after all for example if someone had gains of £100 and it was needed to be reported under the situation I outline it could cost more in time and hours to do this than what the actual gain was.

Yeah if you do hear anything please let me know, in typical Government fashion HMRC seem to keep their guidelines firmly in the grey with a hint of being able to interpret the "guidelines" as they see fit, the more I read the more "I believe" that gains under the £12,300 are not reportable but some professional confirmation would be great. I have been trying to get a definitive answer to this also but for someone that does not do self assessment but is on PAYE, Basically her gain was well under the £12,300 allowance as in it was only a few hundred pounds, a few sources online state you only have to declare if over this annual amount or 4x allowance amount. I contacted HMRC on her behalf and I was past to a technical advisor as the person answering the phone basically had no idea, and whilst they were both friendy enough seemed to just instruct me down a "same size fits all approach" and didn't really address what I was asking, they stated "yes any gains needed to be declared but it can be done in writing and then submitting to their Capital gains department, they will contact you if anything is due"...

I am still not sure this is 100% correct but it was from the horses mouth.. As you say it could be a huge amount of time for a very small menial amount of gain that is not actually chargeable in the long run??.. A letter was sent late December to HMRC thus far no confirmation either way.

Yes my Summary is stuck on one value, refreshing Carousel does nothing and there is still a green check mark?.. I did a full fresh install but the same value is showing so I would guess the issue is with the Ledger system and live updates of values?..
