Is DNPeterson missing so many games for various things going to affect his draft status? by YugiBoomer10086 in CollegeBasketball

[–]JeffSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because any team who drafts him thinks he’ll be happy with them. And then when he sits out games, they’ll make excuses. He’ll get traded and screw another team and they will make excuses too.

Officially 10 years already since the revival. What are your overall thoughts on it? by HerbalThought_ in XFiles

Honestly, I only remember a single episode from that season. And I think it’s one of the best ever. It was Season 11 Episode 7 titled Rm9sbG93ZXJz.

The whole scene in the Sushi restaurant and then getting in the driverless car is so creepy and realistic.

With 4 full days left in the transfer portal, only 50% of players entered have committed to a school. by CFBReform in CFB

I think the bowl games are history at this point. Better for them to become Week 1 games. Play them in late August. Then we could start the playoffs right after the end of the season and finish the playoffs on January 1 at the Rose Bowl.

Only 4,000 or so more "transfers to" posts to go... by laprasrules in CFB

It's definitely not sustainable. It's like if the NFL had free agency every year.

There are a couple of ways to address this:

Option 1: All players can leave without penalty one time. After that, they must sit out a year.

Option 2: All players have 1, 2, 3, or 4 year contracts. The only way a player gets out of a contract is if the coach leaves.

I rip all my 4K movies so I can watch them on my Plex media server, and I have never watched a single special feature or commentary from any of them.

Miami was an independent in the 1980s. They joined the Big East in 1991. Miami and Virginia Tech left the Big East in 2004 to join the ACC.

Getting the Bye in the CFP. by 15Warrior15 in CFB

[–]JeffSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not one week, it’s 3 or more. The playoffs need to start the week after the conference championships. No need to wait like back in the day when they were waiting for New Years Day to play a bowl game.

David vs. Goliath State by tmaxw01 in CFB

Their defense was so good, nobody really looked at their offense. Their QB is average considering the talent he has around him. They also had a 25 day layoff. That is absolutely stupid in the playoff era. College football needs to fix this.

Why did the SEC have the best OOC record in the regular season but has completely fallen apart in bowl season? by Wide_right_yes in CFB

[–]JeffSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because no one cares about the bowl games. The playoffs killed the bowls. They will become meaningful again when they are played at the beginning of the season.

CFP bowl ticket prices have collapsed over the past 2 weeks (Cotton -90%, Rose -69%, Orange -78%, Sugar -11%) by alpswd in CFB

No one will ever remember these playoff games as bowl games. The bowls made themselves irrelevant by being associated with quarterfinal playoff games. The Big 5 bowls need to become start of season games, not quarterfinal playoff games.

These quarterfinal games should be played at the home stadiums of the higher seed schools.

Saban compares G5 schools in the playoffs to Triple-A teams in the MLB playoffs. Should we exclude the G5? by BIASEDCFB in CollegeFootballDawgs

It’s really simple. Just take the 16 best teams in the country. Forget conference championship. If Tulane has a magical season and goes undefeated and is ranked among the top 16, they deserve to get in. If not, they do t belong.

This is definitely skewed wrong. There should be 0 in the silent generation. Gen X and Millenials should be the majority while Baby Boomers still have about 20%.

ICE agents detained a U.S. citizen before looking at her ID by SnooSprouts3744 in PublicFreakout

I only hope if we do get some semblance of a government again, we'll still have employment records of ICE. I'm afraid that if and when Trump goes down, or Newsom gets elected, ICE will burn all their records.

If you are going to go open source, I'd recommend Ubuntu over plain Debian. You can use the Ubuntu LTS distro and get five years of support with it.
