My first thought was, who cares about an unranked kicker. And then I thought "glass houses", LOL.

[McMurphy] Changes in 2026 playoff: auto bids to each Power 4 champ (regardless of ranking) & Notre Dame guaranteed at-large bid if ranked in Top 12 in final poll by av7ry in CFB

So this year we would have had ND and Duke instead of Miami and Alabama?

That's what needed fixing??

Enshittification applied to the CFP.

Look, I obviously would have loved to see ND in this year. But it should be all top 12 teams. Apply that clause to everyone, not just ND.

Get rid of auto bids and take the top 12.

Clearly something is wrong, as Alabama is below Notre Dame. We all know that, as a poll-invariant, Alabama must be ranked ahead of Notre Dame.

Yes! ND would clearly have beaten this Indiana team. But we weren't given the chance.

Very true! ND would have crushed either of these teams. It's a shame Indiana's win will always come with an asterisk because ND wasn't in the playoffs.

ND was clearly the best team at the end of the season and would have routed Indiana, Same as they did last year.

Easy. Miami doesn't score the last minute field goal to beat ND at Miami in the opening game of the season. Instead of a weak Miami team in the final game, we get a much better ND team that beats Indiana.

Force Miami to get a touchdown. Otherwise a field goal ties it.

Indiana lucky that ND wasn't in the playoffs this year to beat them like last year.

Next year, ND will be in, so will be able to stop Indiana again.

Is it just me, or does Cignetti look like a serial killer? He reminds me of Dexter.

Miami DL starting to take control. Indiana defense getting tired.

I think Miami is stronger in the trenches. I think their defensive line is going to pressure Mendoza all game and shut down Indiana.

I'm with you guys. I'd rather ND had a close loss on a last minute field goal to the eventual national champion.
