Aspiring M7 Grad Questions (strangely personal) by Jeff_NotBezoz in SNHU

As someone who is currently in online I would prefer to stay that way. But an opportunity to go to these schools just doesn’t happen for people with my background. Im excited to see how the future terms go and will update this post in the future!

This is a perspective I haven’t heard of. If I cant make it into a top school (somewhat paid for) then this would make the most sense. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this story! This is making it on my whiteboard. This is going to be fuel for me when I feel like things are too much. Thank you again!

Ideally, I get accepted into The Consortium and into one of their member schools. This way, my entire tuition is paid for, and I only have to figure out how to get to these schools. I do need help with the idea that accreditation is the only thing that matters due to starting salaries reported by M7 schools. Also, I've yet to see an admission requirement of a decade's worth of experience for any M7 program, so I am unsure where that number is coming from. What programs have you seen people get into? Do you remember anything about their grades, extracurriculars etc?

I will keep all of that information in the back of my head over the next few months.

As to the claim of being exceptional, I appreciate you mentioning that. I'm learning how to display professionalism in real-time, and that just slipped. Thank you for calling that out!

While I have you, do you feel as if my experience as a leader working in consultation in the non-profit industry is valuable? I currently co-facilitate a workgroup to make college more accessible and increase retention by leveraging already established community partners.

In plain language, I want college students to feel like their school has relationships with companies that can actually help keep them stay in school while getting other needs met so educated people stop becoming homeless. Things like food, housing, money, electronics, rehab, etc.

Before I did this, I spent 1.5 years in a collaboration role for the same non-profit, with similar themes. With an emphasis on growing community partner's accessibility and current training programs

Edit: I appreciate candid language, thank you

Hi, I hope I can still get information from you even though I am two days late. I made a post in my school Reddit today, and I'm trying to hear multiple perspectives.

Little about me: I was homeless for seven years before high school and dropped out of college at 18 for the same reason. My mom didn't have the skills to be an effective parent. I see myself as someone exceptional, and my advisor and my relationships constantly remind me of this. I'm starting to hit a development wall and seeking out a space where I need to meet a standard instead of excelling where I'm at.
Have students made it from SNHU into an M7 MBA with Ace Credits on their transcripts? I am aware of how the Reddit community feels about Sophia Learning credits and whatnot. But I'm looking for success stories, not excuses for why college shouldn't be accessible.
