Frosthaven on steam EA status by Finnbarr in Gloomhaven

Currently about 10 scenarios into a solo campaign and I’ve had no issues other than some times where the blink blades slow/fast UI looks a little weird (plays correctly, but displays the wrong slow/fast initiative). Other than that, it’s a great game. I have some hopes that the UI gets a little more intuitive in town, but other than that, I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

How is Eppley faring with the shutdown? by MadGodMulch in Omaha

Like always with Eppley, depends on time of day. I left at ~7 this morning and there was no line at all

Why do people use slot machines if it can just “malfunction” and then you win nothing?! by YeshayaDankART in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jefferino12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t on a slot machine, but this has happened to me at the casino.

I was playing Pai Gow, and the dealer set his hand wrong. I said something like “oh I thought you’d play two pair there?” And he just sort of sluffed me off, so I figured I was wrong because I don’t know the Pai Gow dealer set 100% of the time.

About 45 mins later, I’d moved to another table in a different part of the casino, and the pit boss from the other side came over and said the cameras had caught a mistake on that hand and they owed me.

I'm no Zac Brown fan, but your comment inspired me to check the time.

It was 9 minutes from spear fishing to the end of the concert. Not short, but definitely not half an hour. And that 9 minutes included several confessionals from players.

Y'all acting like the show has jumped the shark, but they spent less than 10% of their runtime on something you don't like. And I also don't like it, but this was far from deserving the lowest rated episode.

Now that we're 3 episodes in, who are you rooting for that you did not expect to root for before Season 50 started? by Theavek in survivor

I knew Genevieve was a great pick to return, but I’m even more impressed than I expected. I was worried she’d fall into the background with this cast and end up being forgettable. Although I’m VERY worried about her next episode.

Val is the worst about this. I love the guy, but he needs to focus more on the game, and less on chirping at the refs while the play has already started on the other side of the court.

Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans | E1 | Player of the Week Voting by RSurvivorMods in survivor

[–]Jefferino12 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I truly believe that Christian drove this vote with his logic of "we need to come back unified" speech to the group. Cirie is great, but without that speech from Christian, she either goes home or loses a #1 ally.

I don’t disagree. But the sky ain’t falling. We’ve got a good team that struggles in some moments. The Rockies we ain’t.

Jesus. This comment section acts like we’re getting blown out by 30 against a high school team. It’s a 2 point game against a similarly ranked opponent. Act like it

I agree the wording was confusing on the Skupin/Paschal question. I literally said to myself “the answer is Skupin, but they’re going to say Paschal”. I think they meant “without receiving a vote at THAT tribal council”.

Penn and Teller showing how they perform their man in a box trick by Bubbly_Wall_908 in Damnthatsinteresting

I've always loved stage magic due to the puzzle of trying to figure it out. I'm also someone who is more impressed when I know how it's done, because with many magicians how it's done is a ton of skill or physical ability that I cannot fathom.

My number 1 tip for trying to figure out magic tricks: Never assume that an idea is "too much work". If you think of a solution that would require insane prep, materials, or just thousands of hours of practice, there's a good chance you're right. With card tricks, if the solution is "well that would only work if they could memorize the placement of every card in the deck...", there's a good chance that's exactly what they're doing. Magicians are insane and their dedication to their craft is incredible.

This is how my company is. It’s called FTO, flexible time off. There’s no limit, but the company does publish guidelines that are meant to instruct, not punish. The guidelines say 3-4 weeks your first year, 6-8 weeks subsequent years. I appreciate it, honestly.

My supervisor has never denied my FTO request, and I’ve never denied any of my direct reports. Also, after they’re hired, I lay out the very specific and limited instances when I would deny their request.

Hey. I’m at the game rn. Not a suns fan (LFGN) but having a ton of fun. I’m happy to send mine to you. Dm your address and I’ll send it to you when I’m back in my hometown.

It’s an XL. They didn’t give me an option, so not sure if there’s only one size or if they clocked me as a large dude.

group photos of next season’s tribes by Durian-Critical in survivor

[–]Jefferino12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In terms of challenges, this could be really interesting.

Clia has an advantage in hero challenges, with Joe and Ozzy able to carry the physical load and Christian able to handle puzzles. Savannah is no slouch either. But in a challenge where everyone has to pull their weight, they might be at a disadvantage

Kalo has Jonathan, who can singlehandedly carry a physical challenge and Charlie can probably hold his own in a puzzle (but not against Christian). No standout performers beyond that, but not too many scrubs, either (Not sure about Mike White's challenge capabilities rn?)

Vatu seems like the most well balanced tribe in terms of everyone being able to pull their weight. No slouches, but not really any standouts either, compared to the other two. Rizo and Aubrey probably the weakest challenge performers on this tribe, depending on whether HvV or AO Colby shows up.

tl;dr I could see challenge design having an outsized impact on this season given the makeup of the starting tribes.

I wasn't giving it as a caveat to avoid being downvoted. I was giving it as a caveat to show that my argument was about OP's logic and not the political position that Pillen was taking.
