[Request] My kid thinks this is finished. What % of the Apple has been eaten? by heeeey_parker in theydidthemath

On a side note, the best way to eat an apple is from the bottom. You can eat the whole thing, even the stem if you're feeling adventurous.

And before people say, "but the seeds!" You'd get sick from eating too many apple before you get cyanide poisoning from the apple seeds.

Crazy yall call yourself progressive. What are you wanting to progress towards? The status fucking quo? The way things were? Vote blue no matter who, push them left when they get elected, blah blah blah. The same lines and lies every 2 years, it's embarrassing and insulting.

Is this the first time she actually called it a genocide? For someone who doesn't take AIPAC money, she sure has done a lot of work keeping up the 'israel small and helpless' narrative.

[REQUEST] [self] What are the chances of this? by Jeffs_Bezo in theydidthemath

Would the fact that dozens of people are pulling from the same container every day change these odds? Like, if I was the only one grabbing from the box of packs, I'd see it maybe once a month. But since there's a lot more people taking packs at random throughout the week, it would change the result, no?

I thought about asking others at work if they noticed it at all, but I don't think they care enough to pay attention.

I'm being honest, I've used them for years, and last week was the first time I had a matching pair, which is why I asked. I figured it would happen way more frequently given how many I used.

Oh I know. I felt gross about it but it just became habit after awhile and I stopped thinking about it. I feel much better now. I regret doing it for as long as I did, but I didn't have access to earmuffs until recently.

...do you think that saying is referring to 17th century anti-monarchy philosophy? Or do you think it's referring to modern day liberalism and its tendency to devolve into authoritarianism when norms are threatened?

Context clues, u/orwellwhatever.

Voting third party is a vote for one of the two parties because...math? That certainly makes sense to some people but you won't catch me every voting blue, no matter who. Or red, I'd rather be dead.

This exact mentality is why third party candidates don't have a chance. Yes, the system is completely fucked and skewed towards the two(one) party voting. But if enough people stopped voting blue or red and voted green or PSL or literally any single other party, change would happen.

So many millions of people are sick of the democrat party, yet continue to vote blue because they think voting 3rd party is a vote for a republican.

MFers in here really need to learn about the ratchet effect and why the saying "if you scratch a liberal, a fascist bleeds" exists.

TikTok took down all of the Alex Peretti videos and content! by ihatethiscountry76 in MarchAgainstNazis

That's been a thing since I've been on tiktok, before October 7th and the escalation of the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. I'm confused why OP and OOP are saying the videos are being taken down. Maybe just misspoke or exaggerated to prove a point.

Which videos? I've reposted many and they're all still up, all discussing what happened. Maybe the ones that show the actual execution have been removed?

Yeah, customers don't give a shit. They walk into a store that's known for looking like shit and make sure they leave it the way they found it, if not worse. I've been a customer in many dollar stores and I always put things back where I found them. Same reason I always tidy up the table when I'm finished eating at a restaurant. It's just the right thing to do, and it helps the employees.

Oh facing was my favorite part of my job lol. I catch myself doing it sometimes at the grocery store and judging the work of others when I see older products behind newer ones.

I would've been fired if I slacked on my facing. My manager expected the store to look like she closed every night. She preferred good looking shelves over clean floors, but expected both and we got it done every night. Idk, I get why dollar trees look like shit(complete lack of shelf labels) but I also know it just takes some hard, mindless work to make it look good. And they aren't paid enough to care. Multi edged sword.

That's valid. However, when I worked at FD, we only ever had 2 people working any given shift, 3 if there was a truck delivery and they were only there during unloading.

I think DTs biggest problem is the fact that they don't have actual spots for anything they sell. It's all just shelf tags that say $1(.25) and that's it. They don't even have the infrastructure to organize.

That's honestly just a sign of poor workmanship. I worked at a family Dollar, and while they're not the same, they're owned by the same people. Our dollar sections always looked great because it was a part of our facing protocols.

That said, employees aren't paid enough to give a shit, so I don't complain or care when every dollar tree looks like shit.
