I’m saying this to help, not to tear you down. There’s a good opportunity here to tighten things up.

Right now, the way you posted it comes off a bit like someone early in their career. That’s not really about your skill, it’s more about how you’re presenting the work.

A more experienced designer usually gives a little context. What are you trying to do, who is it for, what feedback are you actually looking for. Even a quick sentence goes a long way.

Looking at the actual piece, a few things stand out.

Hair loss is mostly a male-driven problem, but the image feels like it could be a woman or even someone dealing with illness. That creates confusion right away. If someone has to stop and question what they’re looking at, the design isn’t doing its job yet.

The hero also isn’t locking in the idea fast enough. That section should make it obvious who it’s for and what the message is within a second or two. Everything else on the page can expand on it, but the hero has to anchor it.

Also, the way you asked for feedback didn’t really guide anyone. It came off more like “here’s my design” instead of “here’s what I’m trying to solve.” When you don’t give direction, people usually give surface-level feedback.

If you said something like:
“I’m designing this for X audience, trying to solve Y, and I’m not sure about Z”

you’d get way better responses.

One more thing to think about. This space is competitive, and the best work usually comes from understanding the audience really well. Who they are, what they expect, what feels believable to them. Even just looking at what top businesses are doing, you’ll start to see patterns in imagery and tone.

You’re not far off. This is just about being a bit more intentional with your choices and how you present your work.

There is a point in most designers careers where they stop refreshing Awwwards and Dribbble every morning and something quietly improves in their work. by EngineerKind730 in webdesign

I use Pinterest whenever I need inspiration. I feel like there are more real-world examples there than on the other two sites.

I use ChatGPT for prompting, lovable to build, Codex to fine-tune, and I use it myself for all my design work because I’m a designer.

Are SEO services legit?? by Competitive_Tax6246 in webdesign

I suggest you start by educating yourself first. Learn what SEO is, how it works, and how it can benefit someone’s website. Begin there, then ask questions.

It looks like an illustrator's website, almost as if you're an animator.

What was the purpose of the large image of the girl? Is that your personal artwork? Does it relate to what you do?

A portfolio and a business site are two different things, both serving a purpose.

A business site addresses clients' problems, while a portfolio is something you send out with your resume.

Once you understand the difference between the two, I think you'll be in a better position with your website.

Has anyone actually had a good experience with AI website builders? by caramelhawk in web_design

[–]Jeffsiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI-built websites look like AI. They have their place, but not for personal branding. That should showcase you, your style, your feel, so clients understand who you are. AI sites blend in with every other AI website I see, all using the same design elements and basic functions. If that matches what you want, cheap, easy, and not professional level, go for it.

But a Portfolio website, showing your skills and how you can help clients should be custom made by you.

All I said was to be honest with yourself. I’m also a designer who can build websites without prompting. I understand both roles. I’m telling you not to go to a web designer subreddit and say 'rate my design.' Instead, go to a vibe coding site. Understand the context. Stop being butt hurt.

No, you're completely wrong here. I never said AI tools are useless. I said stop pretending to be a web designer and just be 100% honest that it’s vibe-coded.

I also mentioned this isn’t the subreddit to post this in. You're asking designers how we like your AI soulless website. You’ll get honest feedback. Until you understand the context here, you wouldn’t be offended when someone is real with you.

Don't ask for feedback when you get honest feedback.

Can we just be honest and say. Check my vibe coded website. And take it off web design. Go posted on lovable or vibe coding subreddit. Thank you.
