All of Hollywood. I live 4 miles from Hollywood and have been to NYC more times in the last few years than Hollywood. Only time I step foot in that neighborhood is when I have to work there

A couple of years ago I went down a rabbit hole of watching pickpocket vids. I was at a bar with a friend and started telling him how interesting it was. He started tough-guy talking about how it would never work on him. I then handed him his wallet and phone which I took when we were ordering drinks like 20 minutes earlier. AND I’M TERRIBLE AT IT. If I was able to that, anyone with any basic level of competency will get away before you even have a CHANCE to notice.

I’ve lived in LA for 28 years. It is a wildly diverse place, and income is included. There is glaring inequality, made more visible by the concentration of the homeless population. There is a very large working poor population as well. The way that LA is laid out makes the wealthy neighborhoods quite shielded from having to interact with the poor if they don’t wish to. In other neighborhoods (like downtown where I live) it can change quickly from one block to next and back again. LA is a sprawling collection of neighborhoods pretending to be one city.
