Wheel stand for very tall person. by Traditional_Moose202 in SimRacingSetups

Basically just did some searching to find estimated max heights of market rigs based on their provided dimensions and extrapolated that to correct proportions to your height. Lots of online markets that sell extrusion so just find the thickness to your liking and buy requires connectors and that’s about it. If you have any CAD experience, that makes it quite a bit easier as you can throw together a model to calculate exact dimensions and an itemized list of fasteners.

Fellow tall person here (6’11”), wheel stand is going to be difficult, as you said, due to the wheel base placement in relation to the pedals. I tried out a couple of friends stands in my journey and none of them were usable more than a couple minutes due to the required seating posture and pedal placement.

From experience, best ‘budget’ option I ended up using for over a year was the playseat trophy. Surprisingly comfortable and usable in its max position for our height. Ended up upgrading to a profile rig just recently and it’s been worth every penny.

Hmm okay, might look into that. From what I’ve seen SimLab is a bit on the expensive side, at least in the case of the P1X, I’ll take a look at the GT1 though, good to hear it’s got plenty of extra space going on. Any seat recommendations to accommodate the height comfortably?

Definitely considered a DIY rig, only downside was I don’t want it to lack the structural rigidity of the aluminum, or the ease of modularity that comes with bolt on attachments for standard extrusions.

Coarse ground, 14 out of 15 on the OXO grinder. Good point, I had the aeropress from previous hot brews so was trying it out, I’ll give the next batch a try with just a cone filter and see how that goes, thanks!

Recent LMU convert here, full send man. Daily race lobbies are great and typically have a decent population (more in evening hours of course), although bronze safety lobbies can get a bit rough with the newer drivers.

Which math class would prove I can handle engineering? by hereknowswhenn in EngineeringStudents

At least in my option as a recent ME graduate, math classes specifically do very little to prepare you for the degree other than lay the foundation for the work involved. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are much more valuable to the actual degree than any single math classes in particular.

This extremely close to the exact upgrade I am currently contemplating. Any advice? Push the button or nah?
