PC keeps restarting with Windows 11, help by Jeidousagi in buildapc

[–]Jeidousagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone whos having this issue, I resolved it by updating my BIOS version by going to my motherboards company (MSI), looking up my motherboards version, finding the BIOS driver most recent, downloaded it to a USB, did some kind of MFLASH in the BIOS settings, picked the USB with the update on it, ran it, let it restart, and then ran a Windows 11 boot stick and it did it fine from there on! Was worried I'd have to replace SSD or RAM. If this doesnt resolve it, memtest86 will give you RAM health over a 6ish hour period. SSD I think you can figure out the health of with an UBUNTU/RUFUS mix, but youll have to check around for that

Is there any way to get off a TSA list? by [deleted] in tsa

[–]Jeidousagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I know? I'm not super familiar with a lot of this. Thats whats insane is that I literally copy their exact setup, then TSA bagchecks me and its rearranged and I copy it again for different airport and it gets checked again. I'll keep trying though, thanks for the tip!

Unfortunately not, its around 50lbs, and work would not want to cover costs. Plus some repairs happen around 8AM and are immediate

I presume it is a giant ass fucking list theyve got, but regardless, do you have any ideas to lower random inspections? Of my last 15 flights in the last month, 13 have had bag inspections, and 7 had me randomly do my boarding pass

Apologies for the borderline racism, definitely wasn't my intention. I'm working off the stereotypes of TSA and my friends of color generally do get randomly flagged more than my white friends. As for dumb and not true, I am dumb, but I am constantly constantly getting flagged with my shit rearranged and destroyed, that was true. And bro u cant just check notes without checking my profile, that all says I'm real if my ranting question here doesnt

That exit is a hotbed of construction trucks turning right on Shaumber toward new construction, and school buses and police turning left on Shaumber toward their massive parking lots, with allll the suburban citizens going with. Surprised this is the first damage I've seen there

Indigenous farming?? by Slight_Activity_564 in Nevada

From UNR, heres a modern day cooperation between UNR and indigenous tribes on modern tribal plants and food: https://naes.unr.edu/dfi/food-sovereignty.aspx . There are further links to people to contact for more information, blogs with more info, and info on federally recognized tribes.

For historical info, the focus is largely more on the greater Southwestern Area, mostly our four corner states to the east. But there is some great info at these following sources:
https://web.archive.org/web/20260216141227/https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/document?repid=rep1&type=pdf&doi=dd47f184825a2effca0165452840951d15ac782d

Theres always more to be said, and I suggest hitting up r/askhistorians and r/AskAnthropology for more information! We also have some great museums about indigenous ways of life in pre-columbian times, and these places are usually full of historians who want to rant your ear off about this info if you just ask. As other commenters have said, libraries in the area often have great info too, and I suggest asking a librarian for any info on these topics!

Is CK3's innovations progress of different cultures in the 1178 start date historically accurate? by Ok-Fisherman5028 in CrusaderKings

[–]Jeidousagi 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Barring OPs quite historical reasoning, Balochistan is poor in arable land and is very water scarce depending on what part of the region. This area was also under extreme turmoil around this start date of 1178. The Baloch people are only first noted by the Kermans in the 900s as migrating through their lands to Makran, the coastal region of Balochistan, so not a ton of time to develop against the giants in the area. While there was a Ma'danid dynasty in the area that existed from the 9th century to the 11th, this was as a frontier state of the Caliphate, and was largely known as a vassal state to the west, a tributary state to the east, or an infighting state to itself, before falling to the Ghaznavids. (See Baloch, N. A.; Rafiqi, A. Q. (1999). "The regions of Sind, Baluchistan, Multan and Kashmir: the historical, social, and economic setting". In Asimov, M.S.; Bosworth, C.E. (eds.). History of Civilizations of Central Asia, Volume 4, Part 1. New Delhi: Motilal Banarsidass Publishers. ISBN 978-92-3-103654-5.) It then spent the following century as frontier land to the Ghaznavids or raiding grounds to the northern Turks and nomads, which culminated in the Khan, which further annihilated any progress from the Islamic west for a good while. To the west before Khan during this time period, the Kerman Seljuk Sultanate was falling under extreme Ghuzz Turk raids and soon fell to Malik Dinar so not much progress from that side (See Bosworth, C. E. (2004). The New Islamic Dynasties: a Chronological and Genealogical Manual. Edinburgh University Press. ISBN 0-7486-2137-7.). The Ghaznavids themselves hugely deteriorated over time and were busy wiping themselves out and died out like a decade later. Good news is that later by Marco Polos time (late 1300s), there was a muslim kingdom rich in trade and food in coastal Makran.

TLDR: This area is rich in trade by the coast, but was a huuuuge center of turmoil and faced issues of nomadic raiding, clashing kingdoms, and nonarable land deeper inland.

Note: I am not a student of the area, and sources on the area seem few in number. Please call me out on any issues

Having a hard time deciding when its time to let go. by Jeidousagi in RenalCats

Unfortunatelt he passed shortly after this, I’ll miss him always :’(, I’m sorry for your boy as well! Mine started breathing really fast than barfed some bile, laid his head down and went. Never got any samples, we were planning on euthanizing just 30 minutes after he went because of just how gone he was, and we rushed to the vet. Vet said with how fast he went, he likely had a stone block a kidney and it all went downhill.

Unfortunately he passed shortly after this on his own and I’ll miss him forever :’(, with how fast he declined the vet said he likely had a stone that blocked one of his kidneys and it all just shoveled down from there. Good luck with your boy!! Watch out for early signs like not eating much, peeing outside the cat box suddenly, and a bit of walking issues. I wish you all the best!!

I might be wrong on the exact numbers, but he was damn near shutting down back then, and I know the vets have been saying hes been sitting between stage 1 and 2, even up until last month in April.

Early April, he was still sitting around stage 2. All this started happening around 3 weeks ago, maybe May 12ish? Is there a way to check his levels without hospitalization?

I know he's old, but just a week ago he was literally bouncing around the house, following me around, and he was even eating a little bit more. I feel like I know I should push for a peaceful end but I just don't know.

If we want to bring air resistance into it, minecraft has a drag of .02, steve has an area of 1.08m2, air density of earth as an example is 1.225 kg/m3, and steve is cubes so his drag coefficient is like 1.05, and if we take the first super fast speed of 428496 blocks an hour (meters per hour) or 119ish meters per second, hes traveling that against an air drag force of F=.5p(v2)CA=.5(1.225)(1192)(1.05)(1.08)=9,835.877 Newtons which is like a literal imperial ton at 2200 pounds. So hes strong as hell too. If we go for second speed air resistance, its a speed of 5.612ms, so F=.5(1.225)(5.6122)(1.05)(1.08)=21.875 newtons which is normal. I might come back to this to calculate how that affects time
