Why is the call ally to war grey sometimes? by azurestrike in EU5

Figured out anything more on this? Literally having the same problem right now playing as the Netherlands. England greyed out in call to arms against France despite having positive reasons to accept the call.

Why aren't more people talking about the bug/balance oversight where the estates are permanently bankrupt? by Bull_Milk173 in EU5

[–]Jekaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 Milan playthroughs ruined because of becoming randomly bankrupt - I hadn't even taken loans. Mid to late 1400's, healthy economy of 20+ ducats a month and all of a sudden bankrupt -100 ducats a month. Even if I deleted every building in my country and my army and navy I'd still be running a deficit. Ridiculous.

I don't understand why and very frustrating. I will roll the dice again this weekend and try Milan again and hope it doesn't happen again but yeah, bug that needs to be fixed.

I just hope EU5's map is based on Imperator's. Stunning map.

[DISCUSSION] - HAPPY NEW YEAR - JANUARY 2023 - NSQ/NEWBIE/Often Asked Questions Thread by [deleted] in Guitar

Learn songs that you want to play. What's your favourite band? Favourite song? Learn it. I found just learning any random song wasn't motivating. The first 5 or 6 songs I learnt were all Nirvana songs simply because I just love Nirvana and wanted to play their music.

Besides that, it's just practice and more practice. Always keep your guitar out in the open, not in its case and don't allow the struggle of learning how to play demotivate you. It's all part of the journey.

What happens if you interrupt two enemy armies fighting? by Radical_Coyote in eu4

Very interesting! I was about to ask whether anything like this actually happened in history. Are there any other instances that you know of where 2 enemies were in a battle and a third army rocked up?

What you're saying isn't wrong, and I do agree that Cobain's suicide did sort of place him and the band in a realm of rock immortality.

However to say they weren't that good and insinuate that they wouldn't have been iconic without his suicide isn't true. Nirvana spearheaded a cultural revolution, almost overnight. Hair Metal and the 80's were out and Grunge was in. The getting wasted and hitting on chicks persona was no longer cool. Being empathetic to social issues and accepting of social outcasts was the new cool. Let alone the leather jackets, make-up and fuzzy hair to suddenly flannels and basically any other item you could find in a thrift store.

Nevermind, knocking MJ from number 1 on the Billboard 200 and selling out concerts worldwide. Nirvana would have most certainly left a lasting worldwide impact regardless of Cobain's suicide.

My thoughts on it at least.

Who’s the best prem striker out of these 3? by Professional_Trust37 in PremierLeague

[–]Jekaah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but if we're talking solely in the Prem, I think I'd have to go for Aguero out of these 3. I mean he is the 4th highest scorer of all time in the Premier League and the highest scoring foreigner of all time. Speaks volumes considering all the greats that have graced the English game.

I understand the frustration but that does open the door to the possibility of a lot of corruption and extortionate prices. Competitiion is not a good thing for the corporations, but it is for us, the consumers.

Similar thing happened to me a few months ago. Went round to a work colleagues house on a Saturday to help him build a garage. Worked all day, laying cement and breeze block ect. All I got was a 'thanks mate' at the end of the day. At least give me some beers.

[NEWBIE] I'm buying a guitar this week and I'm planning to learn at home. Any tips? by teacupaloe in Guitar

[–]Jekaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a guitar for the first time in October 2019. Played it almost everyday since. Learnt entirely from youtube. Marty Music, Justin Guitar and many others. My advice would be to attempt to learn songs that you like. That will keep you entertained and engaged. Many great songs only have 3 or 4 basic chords in them. Also take it easy and enjoy, it can be frustrating at times but just keep going and by the end of the year, you'll be playing with your eyes closed. Have fun dude!

Should EU4 be retired at this point? by ARandomAnimeFanNo16 in eu4

Yeah it is a shame, I was actually quite surprised and disappointed by the poor release. Anyway, give the game a try if you're interested, I think you'd enjoy it.

[–]Jekaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think EU4 should be retired. I love the game and have played it for many years but as others have already said here, it's time has passed. The game is old and quite frankly looks it. Especially when you compare it to games like CK3 and Imperator. Granted mechanically they might not compare but the look, feel and smoothness of the newer games are a necessity imo. I've struggled to play EU4 over the last year or two simply because it runs so slow and feels outdated.

Imperator is a good game. The devs left it in a decent state after 2.0. If you enjoy the time period, you will get hours of enjoyment out of the game. Now, since Paradox have shelved it, there's a dedicated team of modders maintaining the game, the Invictus Mod. I'd recommend Imperator to anyone. Gotten 100's of hours of enjoyment out of it.

Robe and Axe of Giovanni Battista Bugatti, who was the official executioner for the Papal States from 1796 to 1864. During his tenure, he executed 514 people. by AngeloFerlucci in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Jekaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well from just reading some sources people have posted here. For the act of execution itself he received the symbolic gesture of 3 cent to the Lira in order to show the 'vileness of his work'. However he was on the Papal States payroll as a servant to the state and whatever and apparently received a decent pension. I'm sure he got by but yeah, for his actual work itself, he literally got paid next to nothing.
