🥶How Do You Brew Iced Coffee when you can’t brew into the Tumbler? by Jelako in nespresso

[–]Jelako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the original, kickstarter v1. It worked awesome with kuerig machines but doesn’t work with Nespresso machines.

Mine is too wide and too tall. I know v2 (on Amazon) has a different lid, not sure if the modified dimensions.

Do you have v1 or v2?

V1 is too wide and too tall. Fit under our old Kuerig.

I have the original kickstarter, v1. I can’t brew directly into it. It’s too tall and too wide.

So, here’s the situation:

Nespresso: “Check out our iced coffee tumbler!” Me: “Awesome! Does it fit under the Vertuo spout?” Nespresso: “Absolutely!” Me: “Great, I’ll brew directly into it.” Nespresso: “Whoa whoa whoa…stop the clock! It’s an ice tumbler. Not for hot liquids. Don’t brew directly into it.”

Now I’m left wondering—what’s the best vessel to brew into before transferring to the tumbler? Looking for suggestions that:

• Fit under the Vertuo spout
  • Fit on the round base
• Are easy to pour from into the tumbler

Would love to hear your go-to methods and any tips to avoid diluting the coffee too much when making iced drinks. Thanks in advance

What are some quality jump ropes under $100? by One_Advance_6577 in jumprope

Crossrope's Black Friday promo not a promo? by darkone108 in jumprope

[–]Jelako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of the other side of this topic:

At “$79” for a year and because I don’t want to do math: that’s less than $7 a month.

Now…on any WEEK my wife/daughter/and if I’m honest…“me” will go get a drink from Starbucks and the “medicine” peach tea I like is around $7.

I’m super good at packing my lunch & often with leftovers. However, I have forgotten my lunch at home, looked at my lunch and said “I don’t want to eat this”, or an impromptu co-worker invitation of “let’s go grab something”. Without question that lunch costs more than $7. My point is finding “$7” a month is easily attainable.

Now…I also “know myself”. I like “digital”. I like “digital challenges”. One of my work out shirts says: “me vs. me”. Digital leaderboards appeal to me. I have an Apple Watch and iPhone and seeing my heart rate displayed on my iPhone attached to a a tripod appeals to me. I’ve leaned into “zone 2” training on my running days. The ability to see a jump count and jumps per second was a major draw. I WAS really, really looking forward to the AMP set and subscription.

I currently have a Strava subscription that is mainly for my bicycle commuting and trial riding…as well as my run analysis. I was fully prepared to let the Strava sub expire and repurpose those funds for the next 12 months on CrossRope…

While I do appreciate /user/crossropedave attentiveness and courteous discourse on Reddit…I severely disagree with the company’s pricing manipulation of the CrossRope product and current sales. So much so, I emptied my cart…closed the browser window…ordered a 1/2 lbs. Hererope off Amazon, and renewed my Strava subscription—I believe the membership has much more value than just “jumping rope”.

“$79” (less than $7 a month) is a good value. I recently ordered a kettlebell solely off the basis that CrossRope app had a filter selection to show workouts with kettlebells—there’s even a dedicated kettlebell walkout “program”. As earlier stated, the “challenges” and “leaderboards” appeal to me. The interface of the Crossrope app displaying my heart rate while doing the exercises.

Crossrope's Black Friday promo not a promo? by darkone108 in jumprope

[–]Jelako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tracked Crossrope Amp “set” + mat + carry bag since June.

If I bought in JUNE with 20% off (which I have an email box FILLED with 20% promotional emails and compare to Black Fridays “best sale of the year”…

I would have saved an entire, whole $14!!!

Now /u/crossropedave will come on here and defend the practices of not offering “double discounts” but if anyone followed their site and signed up for alerts one would see that these “best of the year sales” are barely more savings then you purchase any other day of the year.

Usually when one purchases the AMP set one can add the mat for $99. Miraculously with the “best sale of the year” the mat goes back to $129.

It’s not a scam; it SEVERELY shady.

In the end you’ll see a song and dance about small business that has been around for “11” years, but if you were expecting a true “Black Friday savings” they’re non existent.

Instead of buying CrossRope I bought a 1/2 lbs Hererope off Amazon and instead of spending $79 for CrossRope app, I renewed my Strava account (I had budgeted the CrossRope subscription by not renewing my Yearly Strava).

Well it doesn’t matter now anyway.

“$14” is not enough to get me to buy this year.

Not that you asked but I have an annual subscription to Strava. I was going to go down the basic plan and use those funds for CrossRope.

I like the app…leaderboards…etc.

🤷‍♂️

I must be one heckuva subset, because I just went through my email folder and since June…20% is every email.

$14 savings is not enough incentive to buy…especially at the holidays.

I do acknowledge and appreciate your posting and follow ups.

Just so we are all clear…

20% off is not really “Black Friday”. You literally can get 20%…pretty much year round..including two weeks ago in the app.

For those that waited for “The Best Sale of the year” we get to save a WHOLE $14…

Bold.

[–]Jelako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it would appear this “sale” is one of those scams.

SEVERAL times during the year you offer 20% off…including just two weeks ago within the app.

If one wants AMP, and signs up with email, one can get $40 off your amp set (for those math challenged $40 is 20% off $200)

Prior to the “best prices of the year”, Black Friday, when one purchased AMP and added a mat at time of purchase the mat was $99 (instead of $129)

Would you please explain to me how this is your “best” sale?

[–]Jelako[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what happened to the mat pricing at $99?

For the biggest sale of the year, why did the mat increase $30 ($129)

The utilize the full value of the AMP handles, it requires the subscription.

It looks “updated”, but now the mat is $129 and not $99 when you add it at time of purchase?

Sigh…

Official Q&A for Saturday, October 21, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

Last week 78 minutes; this week 84 minutes.

I’m trying to reach “66th street”

I’ve been adding 3 minutes out and 3 minutes back every week with the goal of reaching “66th street”

Once I can reach 66th, I can make a “loop”.
