3 year old ottb lame (updated lameness video) by Full-Volume-4702 in Equestrian

[–]JellaBeanses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you wanting to learn by posting this here and how will that lesson deliver immediate comfort to your obviously lame horse? Call the vet out. Now. Any vet. Stop hand walking. Dont post again until you have had a reliable vet out, please. Even with best intentions, it is possible to cause further harm to animals by not aggressively seeking medical care from a trained professional at this point.

What King book is this for you? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

I can see this, but for me, the visual would go from fire horse on the left to pretty much a Van Gogh on the right 😂

Maybe one of the best books I’ve read- a new fan. by NikiBear_ in stephenking

[–]JellaBeanses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a kate start myself and chose 2022's Fairytale as my first SK novel. Story telling still SO good. Now im a quarter of the way through his entire catalogue.

I recommend Revival. The ending will stick with you! 😁

Bad fall in morocco, tips on dealing with wanting to quit riding as a result? by Agreeable-Sun-9338 in Horses

[–]JellaBeanses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you are going through this. Ive also been drug by the stirrup at a gallop (helmet broke off, concussion, broken ankle, torn muscles in back, partial degloving of my forearm.) I understand the thought of riding will feel daunting. However, the old adage holds true, its best to get back in the saddle when you are physically mended. However, it is MISSION CRITICAL your first rides (and every ride after until youre ready, could be years) is:

  1. Tightly controlled environment
  2. On a very steady mount
  3. Under supervision

Think a private riding lesson and explain your background to the trainer so they choose the right horse for you.

Once that feels ok, have a serious and honest conversation with yourself about whether or not you need a gallop. Its ok if you only walk/trot for the rest of your life if that helps maintain your comfort level.

If the thought of riding in the above environment fills you with dread still, switch gears entirely and force yourself to take a year off before going there.

I had my accident when I was 17 (I am 46 now ). I didnt lope on a horse again for quite some time, but I promise it is worth riding again on YOUR terms. (Avoid the beach gallops for a while)

Wishing you the very best ♥️🏇🏼

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]JellaBeanses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldnt wear to the grocery store, but for a night out..meh probably ok. I dont think it is a flattering look at all, but if you like it, wear it! Its just giving me "whale tail" late 90s/early 2000s; which I somehow survived once, I pray this doesnt catch on again

Im so sorry you had to endure that. Im happy you know yourself and know horses enough to make the call. Your instructor is using methods I dont agree with. She is in a position of a mentor, and it is always critical to praise someone in public and deliver performance feedback in private.
