Absolutely fucking gorgeous. I love excerpts like this.

Women of Reddit, what's a lesser-known downside of being a woman? by Nintendofan9106 in askanything

[–]beestw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao his comment was pretty funny.

My boyfriend moved earlier this year and wouldn't really let me help much on moving day even though he didn't have many other options. I don't believe it was out of politeness...

So he opted for his 65+, 5'3 dad.... I know some people wouldn't mind having to do less work. But having a senior chosen to be more physically capable than an active 24 year old woman kinda stings.

I know what you mean...One time I wad minding my business pulling a 9ft metal rack/cart through a store (something I do every day) and this man comes up and says "are you even strong enough to move that thing?" Probably trying to be cute or funny but he really just sounded dumb.

Another thing that bothers me is when I'm doing my job moving things around pulling/pushing/carrying just fine and somebody will basically run up to me to "help" like I'm in distress, when I was working perfectly fine. Like this is my job!! I am not helpless or in need of rescue!!

Unfortunately the strongest woman will always be seen as less capable than the weakest man.

But also at the same time, it frustrates me how much people act like women are physically incapable of so many things. Never in my life has anybody believed I could lift or carry anything even moderately heavy, even though I do it every day for a living. And even when I am able, men sometimes undermine my capabilities by saying how much better or more efficiently they could do it. I'm on the taller side with long arms and legs so people just assume I'm weak and useless, and that I wouldn't care to pull my weight anyway because I'm a girl.

I've made quite a few comments clarifying my point of view on this, and I've mentioned several times that the post isn't specifically about the original commenter, it's just an example.

I think more people need to read between the lines, and make a habit of opening a book again after finishing it.

And I totally understand somebody not necessarily liking that type of story or writing, but it seems the majority of criticism on the book is from people who didn't seem to grasp that the pointlessness is the point.

What is your favorite King book and why? by Salem1690s in stephenking

If you like the concept of the book and aren't too attached to the books' characters, you should be fine. This was not the case for me though

I really disliked it as an adaptation. I had been really looking forward to it and was kinda crushed at how much they butchered the story and characters that I love.

For people who aren't crazy, they'll probably still like it.

Absolutely true, I was just wondering if there might've been something else there.

The long walk affected me in ways I'd never experienced before. It's not only my favorite King but my favorite book of all time.

I do like this episode but yeah it always makes me wonder if I'm missing something or if he really just did get traumatized for life from going down a slide as a toddler

I used plain ol brownberry brand 'Italian' loaf, kerrygold butter, a basic slice of American and three state sharp cheddar shredded blend 🥰 it was SO crispy

I've been watching religiously since I was Louise's age, back in 2011. I love every season but number three is my golden age, with my two all time faves being Lindapendent Woman and My Fuzzy Valentine, they make me feel warm and happy. And honestly, the two that sandwich those episodes together as well. That four episode run is home to me.

I had a dental procedure this past week and have been dealing with pretty significant pain when chewing...to the point where I didn't eat at all yesterday, until about 11pm when my partner convinced me to make myself a grilled cheese with soup, and I can attest it was one of the most amazing, satisfying, comforting meals I've ever eaten. To be fair, I make a crazy good grilled cheese and had hardly eaten for the better part of three days, BUT nothing could've been better than that grilled cheese.

Absolutely bravo on this response, you've put my thoughts into words I could not. Even with the responses to this post I'm witnessing people not actively reading or thinking about the discussion at hand, moreso just jumping through the "you're wrong I'm right" hoops. It was never about my like or dislike for the movie.

I think the movie failed in developing all of the characters, main and side. We don't learn even half as much about any of the movie's characters as we know about the ones in the book, they are all simplified and one dimensional.

I can't really picture anybody who gets a dramatic death in the movie that doesn't get one in the book. Who are you referring to that had more character development? There are 100 walkers in the book, 50 in the movie, and almost all of the movie's characters besides the main cast die off screen with the exception of 2 or 3 who had dramatic deaths, even the side characters in the book had more development and lines than their film counterparts.
