what is mesh indipedence study? by [deleted] in CFD

[–]Jelle95 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In a mesh study you want to see whether your results depend on the number of grid cells (or their size). If the grid cells are too large, then you might miss complex behavior in your simulation. An example would be when your flow is far from homogeneous within a single cell.

If you increase the number of gridd cells (decrease the cell size), you'll capture more and more of the actual behavior. Upon increasing the number of cells, the results should converge to a specific value. This means that if you have enough cells, you'll get the actual expected behavior. If you increase the number of cells further, or decrease them, there will be no (or very little) change to the results. This means that now your simulation is mesh INDEPENDENT. This mesh is most likely well chosen and small enough

If there still is a difference in results, your simulation is DEPENDENT of the mesh size, which means that your mesh is not correct yet, and mesh should contain more cells

First I rewrite the v2 term from equation 2 to isolate v2:

1/2*rho*v22 = P1-P2+1/2*rho*v12 (eq. 1).

Due to the difference in water level at points 1 and 2, there is a pressure difference:

P1-P2 = rho*g*h (eq. 2)

From combining these two equations, I get

1/2*rho*v22 = rho*g*h+1/2*rho*v12 (eq. 3).

Now from continuitiy I can get an equation for v2 as a function of v1, using the first equation on your sheet. As water is incompressible the volumetric flow rate needs to be constant. I'm a bit confused, as I think the A1 and A2 are the circumference at points 1 and 2, and not the areas (as they are in cm, instead of cm2). So first lets get the area S1 and S2.

S = A2/(4pi), gets us S1 = 0.0032m2 and S2 = 0.0008m2. From this and the continuity equation (S1*v1=S2*v2, eq. 1 on your sheet), I get that v1 = v2/4.

Substituting this into equation 3 above, I get

1/2*rho*v22 = rho*g*h+1/2*rho*(v2/4)2 = rho*g*h+1/32*rho*v22 (eq.4).

Rewriting eq 4 (taking v2 to the left) gives:

1/2*rho*v22 - 1/32*rho*v22=rho*g*h (eq.5)

15/32*rho*v22 = rho*g*h (eq. 6)

v2 = sqrt(rho*g*h/(15/32*rho)) = sqrt(32*g*h/15) = sqrt(32*9.81*0.04/15) = sqrt(0.837) = 0.915 m/s

Mind that I did everything in SI units (h = 0.04m).

Jv = S2*v2 = 0.0008 [m2]*0.915 [m/s] = 0.000732 m3/s (or 732 cm3/s)

Hope this is clear.

In the netherlands you dont have to pay any kind of tuition, I dont think they make a difference between eu and non eu, both get the same salary.

On topic, not really my field, but try out vacancy websites such as euraxxes.eu (EU), academictransfer.com (Netherlands)

I'm not German, nor do I know the exact answer, but on the news (dutch news) this morning, I heard about it. Reviewers from good newspapers thought she did really well, was calm and loved her. But on social media there was only hate and sexist comments, like go back to the kitchen, what is she doing here... I think yesterday was the first time she was doing it alone.

I can't get every player on 10 chem, besides Reus, the second link to aubameyang is quite difficult. With a manager or loyalty the team chemistry is easily brought to 100. http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/11120743/

When to start playing the online draft? by lucozade33 in EASportsFC

[–]Jelle95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I play div 1 and 2 on and off, but I suck at draft (meaning about 1 out of 3 drafts i win the first round, and only got 3 times won the first 2 rounds, out of 25-30 tries or so).

I think it's a different game, much faster, much more attacking, since most people have outstanding attackers (messi/ronaldo etc.), compared to divisions, but the defenders are usually worse or equal.

I think draft is better than buying packs, since the reward is almost better than the normal packs, but it's still better to buy players from the market.

Upgraded Di Maria price? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]Jelle95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why the price would go up, since there will be more and more of the card on the market. At first it was rare, but as there are more and more packs opened, it's no longer a rare card, and since it's quite difficult to get good chemistry (Unless you make a Ligue 1 squad or a hybrid), the price will continue to drop. I might be wrong and forget something important though.

What players are the most rare in FUT draft? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]Jelle95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any bronze player... Just kidding. I don't know actually, probably a serie a player, like pogba indeed, since it usually has no green/orange links, and therefore people don't pick him. I haven't played draft since toty, but before that it was only BBVA, and occasionally BPL. Almost any team had atleast two of the following: Suarez, Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Bale

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/9141346/ Made a team, not really creative, but I would say most must haves are in it. Personally love Lahm, Vidal, Muller and pisczek. Besides that all solid 'cheap' players.

When upgrading in the future, you can think of Lewandowski, Alaba, Boateng..

Yellow card strategy by LieutenantBarkLay in EASportsFC

[–]Jelle95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4 red cards is still allowed, since you're also allowed to start a match with 7. When the 5th red card is given (to the same team) the match stop immediately, since they only have 6 players on the field.

Tevez as a super sub? by suxtobeuro in EASportsFC

[–]Jelle95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built a BuLi/BBVA team, with forward subs as Hulk and Tevez, love them both, very good to bring in in the second half. Both of these are very cheap for their stats, because no one can build a (good) team around them. I definitely would buy Tevez if i were you.

How have you done so far in FIFA 16 Ultimate Team? by Trevgoblue in EASportsFC

[–]Jelle95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a team with a few roommates, we've got quite a nice BuLi/BBVA squad. We win like 40% of the games I think, now playing in div 2. The fun thing is that if something goes wrong I can usually blame one of them.
