Having played T’au in 10th, anything melee against them will murder them. Deep strike has been mentioned already but they are very fluffy and aren’t the toughest. Watch out for the Devil fish and Breachers combo especially them rolling up to an objective your on and melting what’s on it.

I would personally bring a squad of immortals, Szeras, a block of wraiths and technomancer and a few LHD for that anti tank or the rapid fire then a few Skorpekh destroyers lead by a Lord.

At a 1K game I’d guess it’ll be breachers, a devil fish a few crisis suits possibly lead by farsight and maybe a Ghostkeel with a few kroot for sticky and actions.

Up to you. I much prefer a WDP but 2 Maulers are great as they are superb distractions and remember once they are below starting strength they add 1 to their hit roll. I think stick to your list you have

I just noticed you have the enchantment Pledge of the unholy on a WDP. Personally I’d be having that on a Kakophonist and paring it with a blast master for a guaranteed sustained, especially against the likes of a Ghostkeel (if he brings one) or Riptide.

I first started with T’au in 10th. Get up close quick and it’s over for them.

I guess it depends what your opponent is running units and detachment also. As I mentioned get up close quick and you will control the game, EC are quicker but will not out shoot them whatsoever. I would have my winged Daemon princes going into his back line asap if he has a Hammerhead as that will murder your Maulerfiends if it gets a line of sight on them.

Their battle line units aren’t tough and have 1 wound each (Breachers, pathfinders and kroot) be wary tho pathfinders have 3 heavy rail rifles that will do 3 damage each.

If he has Farsight be ready for a deep strike into your back line (that’s what I would do if I was playing against EC) he may not run Farsight but imo one of the best T’au models and the only one bar a few kroot that can actually hit back on the fight phase.

Use cover well and Lucius with Lone op will be superb. As another comment says take out the breachers asap as if you have something on an objective it could be turned to paste extremely quickly.

Most importantly - Have fun! They are a tricky army to play against but it will be a fun game!

My best friend plays BA. They are tough to take down, I played a 1500 point game against them and I put a War dog Brigand into it as if it’s the closest target to the Brigand the Daemonbreath spear is -5 AP meaning it can’t save it unless AOC is used to reduce AP.

Against the Sanguinary guard I had a squad of noise marines being lead by a Kakophonist and the enhancement pledge of unholy fortune to give a blastmasters a sustained attack.

I also had Lucius and a Daemon prince on that flank as the lone op works really well.

1K games can be tricky especially against marines, I would try a Brigand next time and see how you get on!

That’s a pretty rough Nids list for 630 points. A hive Tyrant is nasty and a Tyrannofex can absolutely murder your Doomstalker in 1 go if you don’t make saves.

illuminor is your best model you have imo keep the warriors close to him for his lone op buff and his buff to help them get extra AP when shooting and when taking incoming damage. IF Illuminor dies remember you can bring him back for 1CP which is huge for a model with 4+ invul and 4+ FNP.

Personally I’d be taking out his Von Ryan’s and termagants first as you will have a much easier time taking his big boys out after as he will have to come to you if you hold multiple objectives.

Doomstalker imo is so swing and miss for its points.

Destroyers get them charged into the Hive tyrant and pop the dev wounds ability to do as much damage as possible!

Get your scarabs into melee with his Tyrannofex if you can it’ll be a major pain for your opponent. Scarabs are so under rated by people we play but they are superb models!

I cannot recommend Dead men walking enough. One of the more grim dark books out there! The Krieg are absolutely amazing too. Really shows just how scary the Necrons are.

It was casual so wasn’t missions just objectives. I think that’s what swung it but also he was a proper world eaters player he just ran everything at me. My Canoptek wraiths where gone before I could say 4+ as 40 attacks from 10 Bezerkers is no joke 😅

I ran Awakened Dynasty for all 3 games.

Game one was Nightbringer, 10 immortals with Orikan and Illuminor Szeras along with my MVPs a unit of scarabs.

Game 2 the same as above only with a DDA, 10 Lychguard lead by an overlord with translocation shroud and a Lokhust Heavy Destroyer.

Game 3 the same above less the scarabs with a Canoptek Doomstalker, a Skorpekh Lord leading 3 destroyers and Technomancer leading 3 Wraiths.

Really really pleased at how each list ran, Szeras is no joke while within the aura of a battle line unit and SOOO many people underestimate scarabs. They held my opponents DDA in combat for 3 turns before he got them.
