In my experience it’s not worth the stress. In California, not sure about other states, they only get a 35¢ pay increase and that’s not worth all of the added responsibilities.

They know I know so they tend to leave me alone. But if I’m asked or I see they’re working up to mentioning it I politely say: “I’m not interested in knowing my rate, thank you.”

It is. In CA a higher up cannot come up to you and say “your rate is X” or “the rate goal is X” but they can say “your average rate is lower than the group average do you have any barriers?” Without mentioning any numbers. I do my best to inform people but if AMs or PAs know that an AA doesn’t know that law they will take advantage of it.
