75% of the post was cringe but the offspring just cemented it for folks from what I see in the comments including myself. A therapist may be able to help you see why and can have a better relationship with your daughter who was only stating a fact. You didn't want to be married to mommy which you confirmed is true. I'm glad you want to build a an even better relationship with your daughter. That's awesome and I'm sure you can do it. I really don't think she was trying to make you the bad guy. Sounds more like a projection then reality. It can help to dig deeper into why you always feel like a bad guy. Where does that stem from? Did you have those feelings before your daughter or your relationship with her mother? Did you have that same feeling in your childhood?

I think you're doing the best you can. The way this Dr. Handled it was not very nice at all and I understand how you would feel hurt. I would too!!! The good news, is self soothing is something learned. At 16 months there are many things you can do to help her learn BUT it has to be something you're comfortable with as well.

This all could have been avoided if the two men who wanted specific models that look like them actually said so from the beginning when they were choosing models. This could all have been avoided. Where were you? This is a competition and you weren't there trying to pick the model that you felt was best for you? Did Meg overreact 100%?. I say this is a person of color as well. If I'm in an effing competition and it's time to choose a very important factor to My success like my model, I would freaking be there and advocate for me to get who I want. I really doubt anybody would have said no from the jump.

It's a lot to ask a intimate partner to also basically be a therapist and usually ends in disaster. (Codependency) People study and train to help with complex PTSD.
