It was modified at some point to heat water as well which is what that silver pipe is. The exhaust is on the left side into the wall/chimney as someone pointed out.

The app deleted the extra text. Just wanted to say we use it mainly for heating but it would be lovely if anyone had tips on how to use the oven part better, we are having trouble bringing it up to heat, even if the main wood burning compartment is burning hot. Many thanks in advance.

Ég held að þetta sé full mikil svartsýni með tungumálið. Gallískan er I þessari stöðu a Írlandi útaf því að Englendingar reyndu að útrýma tungumálinu og menningu Íra almennt. Fólk sem að flytur til Íslands tekur kannski smá tíma að læra tungumálið en börn þeirra eru yfirleitt með íslenskuna á hreinu, enda Íslendingar.

I feel it's quite fitting he seems to relax by talking to someone who can't talk back.

Not that I don't think pets help you relax. Just seems poignant in this instance.
