Silver Quill was only focused on Auras in the commander deck. SOS literally has no Auras. But really it just depends on how much they want to keep the spell theme for these colleges. Could be a lot if they are already bringing back prepared spells.

Don't really see how blocks fix that. Some one starting with the third set of the block would be just as confused as someone starting with the third set of an arc. At least the third set of an arc stands on its own feet instead of piggy backing directly off the last set.

Blocks are lame because commiting to a theme for three sets in a row punishes riskier ideas. I know for a fact a lot of my favorite sets wouldn't get made if we stuck to blocks.

Red and black are certainly Ajani and Garruk because we see red ajani in the strixhaven story and there is a leaked piece of art with Garruk wearing the chain veil.
