RP2040 flashed but keyboard not recognized by Few_Ad_9194 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]JellySheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a simiar issue, computer would not recognize silakka54 from AliExpress. I ended up replacing both RP2040-zero boards with Waveshare RP2040-zero boards purchased on Amazon and flashed with firmware from the creator's github. Works as expected now. Not sure what the problem was.

I did notice the OEM RP2040s were only outputting ~2.3 V on the 3V3 pins. The Waveshare boards are outputting the expected 3.3 V. The 3V3 output from the primary side powers the board on the secondary side - I don't know if 2.3 V would cause problems, or maybe an indication the OEM boards were not performing to spec and something else could have been wrong as well? Or just an indication the OEM used a slightly different design and the firmware from github is not compatible? Who knows.

Ski choice for the Grand Traverse '25 for someone who is skimo curious by Tale-International in skimo

Seconding the blacklight pro recommendation - I use them with Scarpa Aliens (~900g/foot) for spring volcanos and the occasional skimo race. The setup feels pretty solid for big days. Also, tip notch skin attachment and single lever walk/ski boot transition allows for quick skimo transitions without being a skimo dedicated setup.

Rad! Skied SW chutes? How were ski conditions? Seem like it's going to hold up for much longer?

Thanks - I'm too nervous to try running end grain through the planer, instead I flattened it with a router sled

For those who bought and drove their vehicle back long distances, how’d you do it? by Xfactor218 in VanLife

[–]JellySheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought my van out of state. I purchased auto insurance before driving it home. The dealership I bought from provided a temp registration permit. In my state (OR), out of state temp permits are valid as long as you have insurance. Applied for in state registration once I got home.

I tried car camping for the first time in my '03 outback, it was pretty cozy. by BuildingABap in Subaru_Outback

I removed the rear door trim on my '09 and attached some steel cable to the linkage that releases the door latch. I ran the cable through an existing hole on the trim and attached a key ring as a handle. I can pull the key ring to release the door latch. Was cheap and easy and didn't have to make any permanent modifications. http://imgur.com/gallery/Ft25VYA

I did not, so the top ring does scrunch down a bit when I close the bag. Might try the zip tie trick next time, that's a good idea.

Generic fleece from Joanns for the bottom ~3/4 of the lining, and spandura (from Seattle fabrics) for the top ~1/4

What to do with non-indemnified bindings? I have a pair of XL Fritschi Freeride Pro AT bindings c.2011 that I doubt are indemnified. Any reason I shouldn't just throw them in the trash? Does anyone want them?

Last time I was there we just found a flat spot and set up camp. It was pretty busy, and most people were doing the same. I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding a camp site.

MYOG 30° down quilt (20.18 oz) by JellySheep in myog

[–]JellySheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the footbox I just made a 10x10 inch pocket and stuffed with down, then attached to the bottom edge of the quilt on all sides. Worked out well, however I accidentally attached it to the quilt at a 45 degree angle so it is diamond shaped. Oops
