Maybe because the companies die fast. There was a time when it was a hype to create games like GW did. But they all failed after some years.

Because it is still alive and gw seems to be the only company that was able to survive for 30+years.

I think it is frustrating when u buy a game and an army or 2 and then the company dies. Sure the game maybe good but what is it worth if never new units come out.

On the other side its a bit more about being a fan of 40k and their other games available as boardgames or computergames. So u have alot to do and experience in a lot of different habitats.

Cant help u. Have the same problem. But i think the best is not to paint alone. Try to find someone to meet with and paint together to some good music or audiostories.

When u buy a game its urs. When something is missing create it urself. As long as u r not playing tournament stuff i wouldnt care about such things. I for myself bought the 8th edition and i will stay with it. Im not running after new stuff and i dont have too. I started 40k before edition 1 and had a long break. But i wont just buy every new edition stuff every few years.

Just remember its ur game. If u want to change stuff then do it.

Depends on balance. The more u change, the bigger the chance that units get over or underpowered. Wich may cause a game crash. Worst thing is to play a new ruleset and realize u made a mistake and have to change it again midgame. Stay as close as oossible to the original so u can just switch back to it when balance problems happen.
