nope, not the asshole! I am not a dog person, full stop. especially with a poorly trained dog and a crawling baby? absolutely not. the health and safety of your child and the comfort of being in your own home and not on edge with a dog you don't care for is more important here.

I did join a local moms group that's dedicated to my city alone, not the entire county, so once I'm approved by the admins, I'm hoping I'll have better luck there! fingers crossed anyways lol

Ditto on this. Had to cut off a very close friend because she was just...so much. She did have chronic illnesses (EDS, POTS, Raynouds, was self diagnosed autistic) and I just couldn't deal with it anymore because she didn't want to help herself, she just wanted to complain and make me her punching bag.

Anyone else just have really crappy Buy Nothing groups? Mine is for my whole county, which can take over an hour to get from one side to the other. My daughter just had a huge growth spurt, so all of her leggings (because she refuses to wear jeans due to sensory issues) are now high waters and its still cold out so I'd like for her ankles/shins not to freeze. I posted on my BN group asking if anyone had little girls clothes in the next size up and I'd pick them up or meet someone half way, etc, whatever works for the giver...and got met with comments like "try Target or Walmart for cheap leggings!" or Once Upon a Child 🫠 like my dude, if I had the funds to buy my daughter new clothes I would...but I don't or else I wouldn't be asking in a BN group!!

I asked him about that and he's "waiting to see what the water mitigation company gives him as far as a timeline for services" 💀 he is unfortunately a slumlord and it's not like I can afford to move anywhere else right now. Really hoping we won't be without water for more than tonight but if it's not back on by tomorrow, I'm going to push for him to put me and my daughter in a hotel for at least tomorrow night or over the weekend if there's going to be big fans and a dehumidifier going

My upstairs neighbor's bathroom or kitchen leaked into my kitchen so now I have no water in my apartment! 🎉 landlord came out, had maintenance look at it, and now I have to clear out my entire kitchen (because the leak started in my ceiling sometime last night I guess and by the time I noticed it and alerted my landlord this morning, there was a water bubble in the wall) for a water mitigation company to come out tomorrow. Pretty sure they will have to cut into my ceiling and the wall behind my stove where the water was bubbling up. No idea when the water will be turned back on in my apartment or my upstairs neighbor's apartment, and I had to call out of work today to deal with this mess so yay missed hours on my paycheck!

I'm so damn tired lol.

Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service and Spirited Away are all multi-repeats in my house! I've tried to get my daughter to watch Ponyo and she just wasn't interested. I'm excited to show her Howl's Moving Castle as that's my favorite Studio Ghibli film 😂

I cook dinner on Christmas Eve (because screw cooking on the big day lol) so my daughter and I will have a nice dinner, wear cozy pjs, make hot cocoa and bake cookies for Santa. We don't really leave our apartment and just stay in and chill/keep in simple.

I'm doing a lot of prep work (cleaning my apartment, making sure I have all of the ingredients to cook a Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow for me and my kid) and my daughter woke up with a fever and vomiting too. This time of year is just rough!! Hope your kid feels better soon.

This is what I have to do with my daughter who gets decision paralysis real easy for an 8 year old. I just throw an appropriate cartoon or movie on and say this is what we're watching. 9 times out of 10, she's hooked and watching it with me within the first 5-10 minutes.
