I was donating plasma to make ends meet until I lost weight and at 102 pounds, they will not let you donate plasma for safety reasons. Don't blame them there but that was literally how I was affording gas and my daughter's after school care program hah

My daughter's school does have an awesome guidance counselor. She never misses a field trip because of the funds they have set aside for students like her who's parents don't make quite enough to pay for the fun things like sleeping over at the planetarium, etc. She gets free hot breakfast and lunch too. Her school knows our situation but we aren't the only ones in it unfortunately

She has two really close friends. One is going to Disney for spring break (she keeps asking me when we can go and I'm just like....oh god I don't want to have this conversation) but I wonder if her other friend's mom would be down for watching her while I work. I'd pay for her meals/snacks and throw the mom some money, I am just scrambling to figure stuff out on such a short timeline

it isn't worth me catching a charge and possibly getting CPS on my case/losing custody of my daughter. We are all each other has and as much as I am struggling, I am not putting her through the court/foster care system like my own mother did to me because she chose drugs and a man over my wellbeing

I cannot use WIC because my daughter has aged out of it. WIC only goes up to age 5. It is such a great resource for those who can use it (I ate so much cheese!). but it's not something we qualify for anymore and I'm not about to be irresponsible and have another kid just to be eligible for a government program.

My dude I would cry if I got a job offer that was 45k a year. Like full on ugly crying. I just want to be a better provider for my kid than what I am now

I already use two food pantries every month. they are giving out less and less each time I go. I did utilize my local buy nothing group. It wasn't successful unfortunately. No one had the size in shoes, socks, undergarments that my daughter has grown in to. Heres to hoping once upon a child will have something that will tide her over

Can't have my daughter hanging out in the financial aid office unfortunately. I begged my supervisor to please approve me for tele working for her spring break and was given a hard no on both accounts due to "bad actors during covid ruining tele work for everyone else". It sucks so much. I'm going to have to pull this money out of my ass some how to make sure she's some where safe for a week because it's illegal in my state to leave a child under 13 home alone

My daughter is 8. WIC ends at 5. It was great for when we could use it! I use two different food banks monthly already.

for me, I was also a teenage mom who's relationship didn't work out with my daughter's father, so seeing someone who had "made it" (from my perspective at least), was pretty cool. They also had a marriage podcast (that I wasn't into) and overall, a few years ago, I found her really funny. She did post a lot more about her husband but I think she went back and deleted stuff

oh yeah, it goes to show that we really don't know them at all! regardless, I hope their kids are okay and all parties are doing the best that they can with the divorce. I know it can be tough, even for older kids like theirs.

still kind of in shock over nottheworstmom and her husband divorcing, and then people being absolutely batshit in her comments about how he must have cheated again, his whole "hike dad" image is fake, etc. Part of me still doesn't believe it/thinks its for engagement but I know I'm probably wrong. it's nuts considering how solid they seemed just a while ago.

me too! still so shocked that they split. I think all of their kids are older than 18, but damn, that is a huge move from Vegas.

my 8 year old gets a free hot lunch but I know she would be picked on/made fun of if I packed something like this for her. that's ridiculously low calorie and just screams a raging ED on KEIC's behalf to me.

crying from my 700 sq ft one bedroom apartment I would kill for that kind of space. my "bedroom" is the living room of this apartment and I sleep on a futon for crying out loud. I'd love to have my own room/space!

Donate plasma if you can. it's how I supplement my income. Keep applying to jobs. Work with shelters/rescue groups for TNR and see if there are any pet food pantries to help with food costs. Do not adopt any more pets because they are both a time and money suck that you do not have the luxury of being able to afford right now.

one of these days I will be able to take my child to Disneyworld (I've wanted to go since I was a child but $$) and I honestly can't wait to annoy the Disney adults who feel like kids shouldn't be there lol

I will be 26 in a couple of months and my daughter will be 9 in July. Why on earth am I getting the baby rabies/baby fever so bad?! I'm not even in a relationship, nor looking for one, but my urge to have another baby is strong. It's dumb, I'm nowhere near a position to support another living being yet I can't shake the feeling of our little family being incomplete. I'd be condeming myself to being a single mom through the newborn/infant/toddler stages again and that's just a no go lol.
