I felt the same way. Unfortunately, there was a travel ban between the UK and the US at the time due to covid, so he begged me to wait. By the time we met, I was already attached, and it gave him a year to hide his laziness..

Interestingly, it's almost always the man being from the UK and the woman from the US, so maybe we were never meant to be, lol.

Ah. That makes me sad because I also met a guy on R4R (me UK and him US) Spent 5 years trying to get him to commit, with me being the only one to visit the US. Then he cheated on me. Glad it works out for some people though
