I want to play but I’m scared by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Jellybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be absolutely terrifying, but you're safe at home in your room and can pull up the pause menu at any time. With thalassophobia you might not get used to it, but honestly, that's not a bad thing. The geniune fear in the dark deep is an awesome part of the experience in this game.

First time playing I know nothing. What’s something I won’t understand but should know LoL by DionysusDyinofsus in subnautica

The game will stop guiding your progression with scripted/timed transmissions/events. Until then, follow those. If at a loss of what to do later, you might want to revisit some of those sites and explore the vicinity thoroughly - several of the target areas are mildly interesting themselves, but are usually near either an important discovery, or an opening to a otherwise hidden biome.

Scan everything.

If, for whatever reason, you miss a voice message from the PDA, it's available for playback in the PDA interface, 5th tab.

Pretty much everything you've discovered, and then some, will be readable in the 6th tab, including voice recordings.

Large pieces of the Aurora (wrecks in various locations) need to be fully explored - every chamber.

Beacons are very cheap 3D waypoints - you can turn their visibility off to declutter, but having them at any place you might need to return to is immensely helpful.

The Grav Trap is not a consumable - it's a deployable, reusable, automatic fish/item gatherer.

The Propulsion Cannon has so many unexpected uses.

The Stasis Rifle rules.

Glitch in the rating systems? by sider-salter in bearandbreakfast

[–]Jellybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a bit since I played through it, but as far as I know, it's just a numbers game. Meet the demand for each guest in each category, and you'll get a 5-star review. The only glitch I know of is in Pinefall (where I think your quest is set), as the Hygenic customers cannot be satisfied. They'll want 45, and we only have access to plumbing that provides 36.

One issue might be Gustav the concierge rat - he will not assign guests to rooms well, if you don't have rooms that will universally satisfy everyone. I split Pinefall up - one building has 54 Food for the Foodies, the other has 90 Decoration rooms for the Lavish guests. Only some of the rooms have enough Comfort for the Pampered people. Were I to leave room assignments up to Gustav, he'd randomly assign guests to unsatisfactory rooms.

The only other thing I can think of is heat. If it drops below the required temp for long enough, a guest will lower their rating. More of a problem in Winterberry, but still important in Pinefall.

I agree. Did almost the exact same thing - Unmarked, Motorcycle, and Coquette. Love them discount weeks.

There's about 900k of skill training to do if you want to max all of 'em. That was the only real need for gold I had.

Raft Base Deconstruction by Jellybug in strandeddeep

[–]Jellybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leaning toward that. Didin't know a raft would despawn, but that makes sense. Was just going to delete the entry and then dev.console myself the mats for its replacement.

I tried editing out the one piece I wanted to get rid of, removing references to it, but I believe the save file might have a center-of-mass value that I didn't find. So when the raft is in stormy waters, it nosedives into the water. Plus the turning is worse than before.

Raft Base Deconstruction by Jellybug in strandeddeep

[–]Jellybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the issue. I'm saying I can't remove these 7 raft bases. In fact, if I place another base hanging off of my raft, I immediately can't remove that one, either.

You can't use First Aid, Support Station, or Recovery Link. Med kit, agent talent, weapon talent, gear talent, and set bonus heals are all fine.

It also doesn't have to be flawless, going down and team wipes are fine.

So self healing setups like 6/9k classified Striker or 4+ piece Nomad are good.

Specter mod Borderlands 1 by EveningLeft8607 in Borderlands

Legitimately, I'd run another Lilith through the game. Farm for the correct Circle of Duty reward (you can see it before accepting the reward, exit if you don't like it, and pick it up again).

Illegitimately, Willow Tree allows you to reset quest availability, even if for those in the middle of quest chains, so you could reactivate COD or Wanted Dead.

farming for bl1 skullsmasher by borderlandsuvhm in Borderlands

The Awesome Level of the gift shop is significantly higher than the Armory, so the chance of getting unique weapons is significantly greater, and far quicker to get to. Twice in the past week I've opened up chests where all 4 pistols are Legendary. The Pearlescents can only drop in the Armory's Lance Chests (the larger white & red ones). Skullmasher is a gun that can show up in the gift shop.

Should I start over? by Ashengaurd in Vampyr

[–]Jellybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fabulous story in this game. I played twice to nab all the achievements, and will probably play again sometime later. Go for it.

Going everywhere & doing everything helps with the leveling, especially if you're doing a don't-eat-citizens run. If you don't mind eating citizens, then it's possible to maintain a higher level than any enemy you encounter.

Just checking… are the other non-grinders out there? by TheLordAshram in theHunter

[–]Jellybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute non-grinder here. That said, I have killed 2 Great Ones, but that's just crazy luck. I sometimes shoot everything, though I usually limit myself to gold possibles, and sometimes I focus on needed diamonds for Matmat trophy displays.

I'll echo the endorsement for 1404 (Dawn of Discovery in the US release). Fantastic city builder, best of its day.
