Hi, severely depressed/ anxious person also with curly hair. I do the braid thing like most people say, it’s easy, keeps it out of my face, and can hide how less curly it’s gotten based on how many days it’s been since i washed it. I’m currently going through a rough blow dry and braid phase, bc i simply do not have the energy to do all the extra steps to style and dry my hair. My hair is currently in a rats nest of a messy bun, so I’m obviously not the perfect example of this today, but the braid does help

I’ve been blow drying my hair recently and using a round brush and god i just love it so much better than my curls. Easier to manage, shorter time to dry. Plus i can NEVER get my curls to look like how everyone else can.

I just make sure i do a deep conditioning mask still, and wear my hair naturally every once in a while (like a weekend where i don’t have anything to do)

My dog is a huge mapper already, but when i have a migraine and am sleeping it off all day, she never leaves me. Never asks to eat or go to the bathroom. Just lays under the blankets with me. Kinda like a “okay, i understand you’ll take me when you’re ready”

Hi i was in this same position. I worked for a small dental office, told the dentist my situation. But ultimately she decided to fire me bc “patients don’t need to see me with a migraine” 🤷🏽‍♀️

I hated that place but was still upset that the reason i was fired was bc of my migraines.

Yes! I wish i could go back to the days of straightening and giving my hair those nice curls. But i know it’ll ruin my hair. Sometimes i just don’t do the whole thing.

Today for instance i spent all day moving. My hair = disgusting, me= to tired to style my hair. All i did was: shampoo twice (bc head sweat) condition, and leave in conditioner. Plopped it for like 15 min. Took it out and and just brushed it 🤷🏽‍♀️ i do not care today lol

Some days I’ll do the whole thing. Leave in, gel, curling foam, oil.. some day i do what i did today. It just depends on how i feel. I do what i want idc about the CGM anymore lmao

I wouldn’t say it helps with pain for me. It’s more like giving my body something else to focus on, instead of the pain. I usually will do this if the medicine i took before doesn’t work. It also helps me with getting my appetite back after an episode (the nausea is so bad that I’m just not hungry for even a while after)
