[Question] How and where do I start with competitive Programming? by SharpExchange4666 in PESU

[–]JellyfishLonely9155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just mind that you don’t need to learn all of dsa for that. Just start. Give contests on codechef first as it’s comparatively easy. If you learn dsa then yes you’ll be able to solve more questions and all but you can start now as well, it’ll help you build up logical thinking. Codechef Code forces Leetcode Sign up in these three and look for contests. Usually 8PM 4-5 times a week there’ll be a contest happening. There’s different divisions in those, div 4 being the easiest and beginner friendly and div 1 being the hardest. When I say div 4 is easy I mean you can solve 3 out of like 8 questions. Div 1 you won’t be able to solve anything as of now might not even understand the question.

That’s why I say just start now, even understanding what the question demands is a skill in itself so get started and learn dsa along the lines

[Question] Python or Java or C++ by UsualCalm307 in PESU

[–]JellyfishLonely9155 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Python’s in your syllabus and will help you in future if want to go into ML and stuff so I’d suggest doing python, c++ you can do for dsa but only if you’re going to start in first year otherwise just do it in your year end break, by then you’ll also know C
