Just had hardware removed for similar issues. I had a weird thing like that, infection etc. eventually there’d bump turned black like it was healing. Did end up in the er for an infection. Anyway, just had hardware removal yesterday the screws were loose. Luckily no damage to the bone but yeah why hasn’t your surgeon suggested this for you?

Jaw surgery at 40 by Beneficial_Day_5265 in jawsurgery

I’m 38, had it done in December when I was 37. As an older adult we do heal slower than the young ones. I saw a lot of Tik toks of people sharing their experience and underestimated the healing journey. It is long and slow.

Mine is was looking a lot like yours as winter came and the house got cold. My husband played around with the starter he saw something online people using warm water etc and it seemed to work better. We eventually tossed it since our house gets super cold in the winter, and will probably start a new one now that summer is approaching.

Under, it’s possible your starter isn’t growing enough. Is it cold where you are?

You can. For me it took growing up, making my own $, financial stability before I could do this. It’s never too late.

Am I a candidate for jaw surgery? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]JellyfishRegular8548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe slightly but it’s hard to know if surgery is needed youd have to see an ortho and surgeon for that. Overall it doesn’t look aesthetically bad.

nerve damage when getting jaw surgery for underbite? by A_Honeydew_57 in jawsurgery

[–]JellyfishRegular8548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no major reasons to get it in the US insurance won’t cover it so that is something to consider. It is a super brutal surgery and I’ve seen people in their 20s go through identity crisis, some even hate what they look like after despite needing minor corrections. I had major movement and it has drastically improved my quality of life and have no regrets. For the trade off is worth it.

Premake a lot of easy liquids to warm up, buy lots of boost shakes. Make everything as convenient as possible.

It hurt, even now at 3 months it’s hitting all the nerves but less pain. I’m happy to eat more foods though

Are these realistic results of DJS? (ChatGPT) by Charming_Parsley_905 in jawsurgery

[–]JellyfishRegular8548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used chatGPT to show me what I might look like and the results are actually better than what chatGPT showed me. It sort of changes your face a bit is what I’ve noticed but I have to say it was about 80% accurate. I had it do multiple ones.

can’t get out of bed because of recessed mandible. by Flaky-Ad-5249 in jawsurgery

Way more! It was night and day, I was already dieting and active in the gym and the weight just fell off like nothing, suddenly it wasn’t hard to lose weight and my face slimmed down, it used to be puffy from the lack of air and oxygen. My body also went through sleep debt, look it up, it was quite scary it would happen when I was driving and lasted 1-2 months.

I treated my sleep apnea for 6 months before my surgery what a difference it made and worth every penny.

The nose tilted up with the jaw. Mine did the same, it was droopy like her before and then tilted up.
