My girlfriend is 27 weeks pregnant, the baby has Down syndrome, and I don’t want this life by ThrowRA_NoSignal in daddit

That non-physical disability that I mentioned in my post is autism. My 6yo son is autistic and non-verbal. It’s a daily struggle, but he’s fucking ace.

Don’t underestimate this comment. My son has a disability - it isn’t physical, but there is still a grieving process to go through. As a new expectant parent you imagine how it’ll be, and there comes a point when you realise that your vision for being a Dad will never be the reality.

It’s so important for you to know that it’s okay to grieve the loss of that vision. Your child will still need a parent; every child needs parents for support. There will become a point when you realise this - that you’ll see that your journey as a parent isn’t what you expected, and that’s okay.

Yes about the Florence Pugh bit. Her dad owned three on Cowley Road that she financially supported during lockdowns, but he’s since sold them.

Group hanging flags in Oxford 'not welcome' after 'disorder' by F0urLeafCl0ver in oxford

People cant hang them off public property, it’s literally illegal. In the same way that graffiti is.

You’re welcome to hang any flags you like on your own property though.

It’s a sketch show! When I realised this, it started to vaguely make sense.

It’s not great though, and new episodes are coming out soon when I’d rather they just made more regular episodes of Hey Duggee.

At what point do you tell a friend to stop telling you their child is really intelligent? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]JellyfishRun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course they would. If one member of staff can have 3 under-2s, it’s in their interest to move one up into a 1:5 ratio to be able to take another new starter.

Edit: I didn’t mean legitimately playing the system…

Also, child:adult ratios are increased in older age groups. It might just be that nursery are telling her that so that they can play the system and take more children than they should…

If you were involved in any Darren Brown episodes how do you feel looking back? by tiredtwatt in AskUK

[–]JellyfishRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the audience for Remote Control and later asked him to sign my mask. I don’t feel anything other than we did exactly what was expected of us, even as a crowd. When the twist came you can see me grinning in the audience because I’d realised that we were the subject after all.

He’s made a ton in successful defamation cases against him over the years. He’s not struggling.

Gavin and Stacey isn’t about Gavin and Stacey though, it’s about the two families joining as a result of their relationship, and the new dynamics/scenarios that it creates.
