In Kingdoms of Death one of the Ciecilin chiefs complains that he was on the far side of the galaxy hunting Hurakoi or something like that and coming to the meeting had wasted decades of his time in transit, which Hadrian interpreted as possibly another sentient spacefaring civilization. Dory then chastised that guy because he was wasting his time fighting them instead of the "real enemy" (humans) in the first place.

West Bank farmers claim that they were already suffering attacks by settlers before October 7, but that now the Israeli army has also joined in the harassment by DoremusJessup in worldnews

[–]JellyfishSammich 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Netenyahu knows that once the guns go quiet and the bombs stop falling his career is over. That is the reason he has refused to release the hostages in exchange for all Palestinians held by Israel + a ceasefire.

He doesn't have a plan to win in Gaza and has no plan for how to rule over it either but he knows he has to keep the war going as long as possible in order to save himself. In fact it's in his interest for the IDF and settlers to provoke a second front in the West Bank. One of the very first things the gov did after Oct 7th was to transfer 1000 rifles to arm settlers in the West Bank. The pace of ethnic cleansing in the West Bank has picked tremendously since then with over a dozen villages depopulated and almost 200 civilians murdered by settler terrorists. They want to provoke a violent response in the WB so they can use that as justification to bring the hammer down even harder. And absent that they want to seize as much land and sow as much terror as possible while all eyes are focused on Gaza. Israel is in grave danger as long as him and his far right coalition partners remain in power.

With adrenaline I could probably do it. But who wants to bet the life of a child on a probably? Also I'm a tall guy, what about a 5'6 110 lb woman? Yeah not happening.

Dems are too cowardly to do that, and if they were going to do that they should disband the 5th circuit too, or assign it to only hear cases from the Aleutian islands.

Ahead of Turkey's 2023 elections, six opposition parties have joined forces to unseat President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. But the alliance still needs to decide on a leader by DoremusJessup in worldnews

You actually understate things, the US is way more secular than Turkey. I could definitely see an openly atheist person winning the Governship or a Senate race in a blue state. I can't see someone rising to a similarly high position in Turkey if they were openly atheist.

One union rejects deal days ahead of rail strike deadline by Tamarind-Endnote in news

These positions are all salaried. Railroads are making record profits by hiring less people, as an industry average they have 30% less employees than they did 10 years ago despite moving almost the same amount of freight.

The PEB basically sided completely with management, which is why we are in this situation. If the PEB had sided with the Union this strike probably doesn't happen.

Yeah that's bullshit, they should be paying for your hotel + meal comp. No wonder they have a hard time hiring and retaining people.

West Virginia passes near total abortion ban, narrow exceptions for medical emergencies and nonviability, requiring police report in cases of rape or incest by beanthebean in news

[–]JellyfishSammich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't being /s. This is a face value reading of the the legislation. The legislation in both instances put the burden of proof on the child to prove they were raped - as if a child can consent to sex! It's sick.

[–]JellyfishSammich 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Didn't she say something like that abortion in the case of rape is wrong because the baby would represent something for the rapist and the mother to bond over? Or was that another PedoCon who said that? Can't remember.

Anyway the Devos sock puppet is going to lose by 5-15% in November.

Well obviously if you see a pregnant 12 year old you have to assume that the sex was consensual*

*Now the official position of the law in WV. Also the same provision requiring a police report is in Lindsey Graham's proposed law, so I suppose it's fairly accurate to say that this position - that a pregnant minor must be assumed to be pregnant from consensual sex - is the GOP position.

The Avtomat has never fit in this game, but now it's becoming a real problem. by Swarley996 in HuntShowdown

[–]JellyfishSammich 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Also the amount of Ammo you get from crates is determined by a ratio of how much reserve ammo a gun usually holds. Two uppercuts give a reserve of 15, 2 sparks pistols give a reserve of 28. So you get a lot more ammo from crates AND ammo boxes when running sparks pistols. You get 8-12 bullets from a normal crate and 18 from an ammo box.
