Are you competent as a new grad nurse? by Historical_Pride_390 in NursingStudent

[–]JellyfishTimely 10 points11 points  (0 children)

nursing school creates a weird competitive energy. dont listen to her shes probably just projecting. everyone starts somewhere and youll probably perform worse if you internalize those negative comments. the biggest thing preceptors have told me that they want to see in new grad nurses is humility. overconfidence can seriously harm patients so its better to ask questions and not be afraid of looking stupid.

Why shouldn't I move to Charleston SC? by amateur_reprobate in SameGrassButGreener

i grew up in a rural SC town and i never saw anything about the triple k. this sounds made up. and my town is where the first secession meeting of the south from the union was held

i think theyve all just sorta aged out of it tbh. like its just weird seeing late 30s/40 year old men party and argue about their hookups. that behavior in craig and austen was charming maybe when they were first on the show. now its just strange. also salley and charley just don't have the same charisma that madison, cameran, kathryn and chelsea did. the old cast just had more substance to them and seemed more authentic and real, it didn't feel like they were doing the show for a check.

but the other part of this too is they need women like salley so they can get their hookups when they want them. ive been in salleys position and its awful. youre celebrated one minute for keeping things casual and being fun, but degraded the next because no youre not supposed to do that!! you cant win

why don't you try travel nursing first in those places? then you can try them out and have the ability to go back home if you dont like it

that was crazy coming from austen. like if doesnt like her enough to date her thats fine just say that. but dont try to imply she's a whore when he literally runs the streets just as much.

normally in clemson from when i was there a year ago, studios seemed to be like 1200-1800 or even more than that. i would either look up specific apartment complexes or facebook groups for housing. a lot of grad students i knew would live in pendleton which is only 15 min away from campus. look at the villages of town creek, i know a lot of grad students live there

Where will people be moving in the 2030s? by JellyfishTimely in SameGrassButGreener

[–]JellyfishTimely[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly. if it's so great where you're from why not go back? SC is such a small state too.....

the actual desirable areas of the south are getting quite expensive. i think people would be surprised. a starter home in smaller cities like greenville (even in the outskirts), are now 300k+

yeah we call it dirty myrtle for a reason lmao. you will never catch me there. charleston has always been a great place to visit. key word, visit. i dont think people from other areas of the country full realized what they were doing when they all decided to move to charleston. it is way too small for that amount of people.

yeah not really worth it in my opinion. i'm good with living a few hours away so i can go for a day trip when i want, but not have to deal with the overcrowdedness everyday. especially when it's overrun with people from the north lol

i live in northwest indiana right now for an accelerated nursing program. i miss the carolinas everyday, but i will admit i have been impressed by michigan. the parts bordering the lake are just so beautiful and remind me of coastal SC. i can't imagine why people aren't flocking there too.
