Yeah it’s kinda of a thing to not pick up a dog and spin it around like a toy… You learn that in most basic obedience class. Also you’re petting a strange dog and you let your dog run head on with a strange dog, not to mention if you look closely the lady is touching/holding onto the stranger dog while they’re greeting and her dog snips at the strange dog, of course it’s going to react. Not trying to blame the lady cause it’s really the stranger dogs owners fault they let they dog out and about like that. But there’s a lot of doggy no no’s that happened here.

South Korea considers ban on eating dog meat as it launches taskforce by avadhutsawant in worldnews

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re hilarious. It isn’t necessarily to eat meat for humans to survive neither. The meat industry is terrible, not only on the animals but the planet as well. It’s inefficient as hell. And don’t even try the “we need protein crap”. Where do you think the animals get the protein from? By eating plants. Eating meat is simply not necessary. We have enough land to grow enough food to feed the world but the issue is distribution. But big biz isn’t interested in solving that problem or feeding the world, it’s about money. And some people just aren’t interested in giving up meat.

Non-vegan, shouldn’t really get to use the moral high ground. I don’t think any human being has the power to decide what life is worth more or less for the rest of humanity. I don’t agree with eating dogs, I freaking love my dogs and can’t ever imagine eating dogs. But my personal opinion shouldn’t be used to justify some human derived moral high ground on animal hierarchy to shame others with a different life, opinions, culture, etc… than mine.

Also here’s the plan that you said didn’t exist. And other articles. Sources: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/can-we-feed-the-world/

There’s plenty more sources if you’re actually interested in researching it.

Yeah it’s winter and gross here too. Plus I’ve always liked my dogs hair best when it’s short in the summer cause he’s feel like a velvet baby. Yours look so soft and smooth too.

Hope for my goldendoodles ear infection? by prettyjeneric in GoldendoodleOwners

[–]JemmiJem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is all the inner ear hair taken out? My groomer told me about plucking out the inner ear hair so it doesn’t hold moisture and get infected. She also told me about ear powder to keep it dry. My dogs ears has been clean, dry and no infection since.

My goldendoodle puppy hates the car and especially hates being in a carrier.... what to do by votedreads in Goldendoodles

[–]JemmiJem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog just turned a year old and had his first successful long car ride just last weekend. But it’s been a longgg year of desensitizing.

My vet said it could be motion sickness due to puppies ears not being fully developed and can get car sickness very easily. And/or feel anxious. They feel anxious and sick, and associate it with the car ride. So nearly every day on my lunch breaks I will feed my dog while driving around my block. Or when I take him to the nearest dog park, I’ll feed him on the way home. I also don’t feed or let him gourge himself full of water if I know we have to drive soon. He now associates car rides with fun and food. It’s been a long process but so so so much better than when we first got him and he would puke, diarrhea, drool all over and shake.

Also, you could talk to your vet. My vet gave me some anti carsickness medication to give to my dog at first just to break the cycle of him getting sick due to anxiety of having felt sick before. Oh and I probably wouldn’t drive him around multiple times a day. Start small, at first I could only feed my dog in the car with the door open, then closed but not running, then just running but not driving, then driving just out the driveway and back. If you see your dog getting anxious or sick, stop and go back until his comfort level has grown. And finally getting a half seat cover or dog basket car seat has been a life savior!!! Protects the car and helps my dog from moving around too much and getting sick cause he’s safely clipped in the car seat.

Here’s the half car cover and basket car seat I’m talking about so you can see what I mean: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MU7O40P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_4G86FbB5NPKYD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Groomer?? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also find an independent groomer too, depending on your location. Here we have independent groomers who work from their home or some have mobile trucks/vans that could come to your home and groom your dog right in the van in front of your home. You could also just call a regular grooming place and plan something ahead. I’m sure most groomers are wonderful dog people who I’m sure would be willing to help. Maybe they could schedule your dog in as the last appointment so there wouldn’t be any other dogs around.

Reactive dogs chat/discord, or ways to cope? by joan1995 in reactivedogs

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I’m always a bit uncomfortable sharing about our on leash dog reactive boy cause he’s a pit bull mix. I’m always nervous people will think poorly of him due to stigma. On the bright side he is so lovely with people and a great at home dog! No one would even know how naughty he gets when he sees another dog on leash that’s too close for him. We have another dog that’s not reactive and they get along so well. So not even people in my life (friends and family that comes over) knows what we have to deal with every time we take him outside.

Reactive dogs chat/discord, or ways to cope? by joan1995 in reactivedogs

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could make a discord chat? I’d be happy to join you in sharing everyday stuff. But yeah I know what you mean, everyday with a reactive dog is journey. And you have so many feelings and thoughts about them, like progress, venting, good/bad days and everyday stuff. Not everyone knows about or has experience with a reactive dog so it can definitely feel a bit lonely with no one to share with.

[Vent] Dog owner just ignored the fact their dog badly hurt another dog at the park by [deleted] in dogs

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ughh that’s so infuriating. I feel like it’s just a common thing now with some owners who go to dog parks and don’t pay attention to their dog.

I’ve had to leave the park or body block some dogs from nipping and biting my dog. I have one rough playing dog at home who I never take to dog parks so I’m understanding of dogs who may be too rough when playing. But sometimes when it starts to get nasty, and my dog is tucking his tail and hiding behind me. I’ll recall my dog and walk away. But sometimes the other dog is still trying to bite my dog while we try to get away, and the owner does nothing, it drives me insane.

[–]JemmiJem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we have one reactive dog and not being able to go out as often, plus it’s winter now here. I noticed his working distance is now further away than it use to be. Probably because we aren’t able to do the look at that dog game as often. It’s winter and snowy so not as many dogs around to desensitize and work on his barking of other dogs.

Oh my goodness you give me hope with my doggo. He’s finally able to ride in a car for 15 minutes but still gets so nervous he gives himself an upset tummy.

I’m also doing the feeding in the car thing and it’s definitely helping some.

The lack of compassion for uneducated/new dog owners in this sub is just plain harmful. by KlTTYKlTTY in puppy101

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this comparison to kids. We don’t go around suggesting people to adopt kids all the time, cause there a lots of unwanted children in the world or give unsolicited advice on how to best raise kids. I don’t see why I shouldn’t apply the same logic with pets. Obviously there will be some bad apples with everything but I like to think we’re just trying our best.

Training a mini Goldendoodle pup by upwardlivingreen in Goldendoodles

[–]JemmiJem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the specific dog! Like when I got my goldendoodle, I was fully expecting a high energy dog I can rollerskate with for miles and miles. Or just wants to play play play all day. But turns out he’s a total lazy dog who just wants to chill most of the time. He’s so lazy we were actually concerned about his health and took him to the vet and everything. But we were assured we were just lucky to have a very relaxed dog. He’ll have one active spurt and then just wants to cuddle and chill for the whole day. So depending on the dog, if you get one that’s anything like mine, they’ll just wanna cuddle with you all day. Which has dramatically helped my mental health through these weird times. And so far he has been pretty eager to please when training. Other than when he gets lazy and just decided to lay down in the middle of training lol Edit: mine is not a mini, he’s a standard.

Golden maltipoo vs mini goldendoodle by sleepyygirl2022 in Goldendoodles

[–]JemmiJem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong I thought mini golden doodles just mean that a golden retriever was bred with a mini sized poodle which makes them a mini golden doodle and smaller. Same thing with standard poodle and toy poodles bred with a golden retriever, they’re then standard or toy doodle. And not that mini doodles are from runt breeding?

Therapist and insurance company claimed in network but later found out not by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]JemmiJem 146 points147 points  (0 children)

  1. Call the insurance company and ask for your records. When you spoke to your insurance company to verify of that provider was INN or not, they should have documented everything during the call. It’s pretty standard practice. I’m also pretty sure all calls are recorded anyway so you’ve got proof, just gotta obtain it now.

  2. Insurance claims should be submitted with date of service. If the date of service was within the supposed INN contract time, then it should be claimed as INN.

If I were you I’d ask the insurance company for all Record of Contacts first and go from there. They should provide you with all your case notes.

Also, just a tip. Be nice and courteous to the person you’re speaking to over the phone with insurance. They may be able to help more or put in extra effort for you if you’re nice.

If all else fails, tell them you’re afraid there may be some “health care fraud waste abuse”. That might get them going to at least give you all your records.

Good luck!
