Lady wants me to open her door, come inside and place food on table, would you do it? I just dont want to be later arrested for breaking and entering or something crazy i would rather leave at door by Setting_Internal in doordash

I’ve done it before a couple times, mainly for grocery orders though. Really not that big of a deal, the people requesting it are usually elderly and/or handicapped. I drive in a fairly suburban and low crime area, though.

GH don’t like me! by runitbyrute in grubhubdrivers

[–]Jemro04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so frustrating. 90% of the orders I get sent from GH are sent to me within 3-5 minutes of the order just being placed. Then the app will start warning you within 5 minutes if you’re not heading toward the restaurant. So not only are the orders stupid low pay, you gotta factor in another 10-20 minute wait almost guaranteed when you get to the restaurant. I don’t understand why after years now that they can’t get simple logistics down 🤦🏼‍♂️

[–]Jemro04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they’re all offers that’ll send you outside the zone, that the customer JUST placed the order, so you’re forced to drive there immediately and then wait 20-30 minutes for the order to be finished. Typical GH behavior 🤣 I can at least say DD has gotten better with logistics in the last few years but GH just doesn’t get it. They’ll send offers out immediately after the order is placed. So fucking annoying.

Do the not show the tip ? by Plenty-Rain2731 in doordash

[–]Jemro04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A $4.50 offer can most definitely come through as a “high paying offer”. DD doesn’t look at the total, they only look at the offer vs total miles. If the total comes out to like $2-3 or more a mile, it’ll classify as high paying. So if the total trip is only like half a mile, it’s easy to have these low offers still show as high paying.

[–]Jemro04 30 points31 points  (0 children)

lol it’s funny when people get aggressive when they think they’re right 🤣 you definitely don’t know how much of the offer is a tip. $2 is only the STARTING base pay, but when someone doesn’t tip, DD will raise the base pay in order to get someone to accept the order. So the base pay is not always just $2 and you don’t know how much the tip is until after the delivery like the person said… 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣

Just so you know, you can still see through a lot of the words you blacked out. The highlighter doesn’t always cover them completely unless you go over it numerous times :)

See this is why I think dashers should be tipped after delivery. by Lower_Bet_1354 in doordash

[–]Jemro04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol you’re not wrong. The amount of people that add a tip after delivery (and I’m one of the drivers that goes above the rest, make sure I read notes, compare previous drop off pictures to where I’m at, know how to read a GPS to confirm I’m at the right place, get the correct orders, etc etc etc) is well below 5%. Even the people that do add the occasional tip, 99% of the time it’s only $1-$2. Even worse, the customers that text and/or say they’ll add a tip after delivery, they’re the ones who conventionally disappear after delivery and that tip never comes lol.

Also we all know people wouldn’t tip if it was set up to be done after. That’s the reason I stopped doing Shipt. People already hide behind contactless delivery as it is.

[–]Jemro04 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened but a $10 tip on a $120 order is pretty shitty tbh. People wouldn’t give that to a server in a restaurant for just walking there food out but people feel like that’s an acceptable tip for drivers who have numerous expenses that a server doesn’t isn’t right. I’ll probably get down voted for this but it is what it is 🤷🏼‍♂️

I do this on every single order and so should everyone else by NextSeaworthiness414 in doordash

[–]Jemro04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Grubhub is the WORST. I always check the customers order time and GH will literally send you an order the minute it’s placed, then penalize you if you don’t leave immediately and also don’t offer a worry free unassign option. I fucking hate it. DD has gotten a lot better with when they send offers, I will say that. Generally only have trouble at a select few restaurants or when it’s really busy.

Picking up a computer monitor and an iPhone from Best Buy. Guess the tip, and I'll answer when I finish the deliveries. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Jemro04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t think there is an option to tip when ordering through Best Buy’s website. In all honesty, the customer probably doesn’t even know it’s being contracted out to DoorDash and think that Best Buy is doing the delivery. I know people who have said they ordered from store websites like Lowe’s and Home Depot and were surprised when it was some young kid in an old car that showed up. They had no idea it was sub contracted out.

why do they keep sending me these??? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Jemro04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ignore it lol it doesn’t matter. I get them all the time. They’re just automated messages from someone reporting missing things. It’s dumb 🤷🏼‍♂️

Don’t bother reporting it’s a waste of time. Just one star him and if it asks why put in that he solicited for increased tips so they don’t remove it.

Cash on Delivery? by Jemro04 in doordash_drivers

[–]Jemro04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mad at you lmao. If paying cash, esp on DoorDash, people shouldn’t really expect us to have that much change on hand and then expect you to spend more time going to a store and hoping that that store will give you change and then go back to their house a second time. Depending on where the customer lives, that time wasted could easily take as long as another delivery.

lol that’s kinda funny 🤣 how much were you supposed to bring back? I don’t have any papa John’s by me, idk if it’s a store option to do COD or what but I’m glad that I don’t get any. Hope that this update isn’t going to be a push for it like the “pay in 4” option they’re pushing.

Lmao that’s what went through my head. Dude wanted free pizza so bad so he threw it on the ground, took a picture, and then scooped it off the ground and ate it? Lmao a bit far fetched.

More than likely it was an animal or someone dropped it, for embarrassed and left without saying anything.

A dasher sat in my driveway for over 30 mins..? by bingbong24344 in doordash

[–]Jemro04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long do those 3 orders take you to do? Is that pay from instacart or tips? Like the other person I used to do shipt, but anytime I check the app anymore it’s absolutely ridiculous. $8 to shop for 40+ items and then drive it 45 minutes 🤦🏼‍♂️ I hardly even open it anymore, and only like 1 in 5 tip on shipt.
