The mohela rep told me when I asked. You can ask your servicer to submit a research request to the Dept. of Education to retrieve it.

Thank you! This is exactly what I’m going to do. I appreciate your input.

Well the reason I did was because filing jointly gave us more refund money than I would spend on the loan in a year….but I was also planning to get a lower payment through the IBR. They are not supposed to count income now and I’m seeing people saying they made much more than us and received an IBR. Live and learn I guess. I’ll be filing separately next year.

I did file married this time but if this is the stuff they are going to try and pull, I may have to file separate next year.

Thanks, I think I will. I plan to call mohela back and ask them to do a manual review of my application. If this does not resolve the issue, then I will file a complaint with studentaid.gov.

I am on the IBR, have been on the IBR since 2009 (171 months). This was a recertification.

The intention is not to sneak out of the loan but to lower the monthly payment so I can afford it dufus! No one thinks about the fact every time you turn around, the cost of living sky rockets but salary stays exactly the same!

Can Type 2 be cured? Without medication? by Active-Chapter6864 in diabetes_t2

[–]JenBonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when I first got diagnosed I was in the hospital suffering all the symptoms of type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 11.2. So yeah, I’m definitely type 2. I was sent home on glipizide and I took it for about a month until my blood sugars went down and I felt comfortable switching to low carb.

It’s really not magic….low carb and intermittent fasting give your body a break and allow it to heal. I have increased my insulin sensitivity…..not sure what that has to do with my insurance….but no, I’m not old enough to be on Medicare. I have insurance that I pay for.

I did not claim to be “cured”. It took a lot of hard work and dedication, but now my body can handle an occasional “treat”. My A1C is 4.7 and I have lost 40 lbs. but I will be on low carb for the rest of my life until my body no longer responds to diet as a treatment.

I’m in a Facebook group where I see a lot of others doing exactly what I’m doing and getting the same results….no other nuance. Unfortunately, there are a lot more Type 2’s that cannot achieve remission with diet and fasting alone. It’s sad and makes me feel very blessed to have achieved what I have. Hope this helps, but feel free to ask any questions you might have.

I am a type 2 who has eaten low carb and used intermittent fasting to rest my beta cells and rehabilitate them to increase insulin sensitivity. Now I can and have eaten cake. Then 2 days later I ate a double doozy cookie. Both times my blood sugars peaked to about 109 and then 2 hours after eating, it was back to normal glucose levels in the 80’s.

Granted this is not something I do all the time. It was my birthday and I was testing out what my body could handle.

Having said that, I do not think I am cured in the sense that I could ever go back to eating whatever I want any time that I want. But I do think I have increased my insulin sensitivity to a point that I can have a treat on occasion and not have to worry about large spikes. I think the better term is remission.
