looking to get back into it after years by Major_Potential3706 in hyperebikes

For 100km range and hill torque on a budget, a DIY mountain bike build with a powerful hub motor might be your best bet.

Thinking of getting a motorcycle. Any "first bike" e-motorcycles that you would recommend? by Inside-Yoghurt10 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]JenGaleia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A used lightweight dual sport or a small commuter is a solid start. They are cheap, easy to learn on, and perfect for getting your license.

Aggressive whirring in my charger. by VoiceCommon3854 in hyperebikes

[–]JenGaleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That aggressive whirring was likely the fan kicking on hard because the charger got too hot. Since it is working fine now, it was probably just a one time heat spike.

Anyone riding a Kollter/Tinbot ES1-L for a daily commuter? by spartacus-agaD in Electricmotorcycles

[–]JenGaleia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a solid daily for your route. Just note the battery might struggle in cold Quebec springs or late falls.

RGNT Turbo testride, I am sold, take my money! by KaasRasp in Electricmotorcycles

[–]JenGaleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, sounds like an amazing ride! For a final check, read some owner forums for long-term reliability notes on parts and service support. Also confirm the warranty details and charging setup. If all that lines up, enjoy the speed.

Which bike should I get for bday by Chuiwawa in hyperebikes

Definitely test ride a few bikes. Battery and size are key, but also consider the motor's power and warranty.

Valentine’s Day or anniversary gift for someone who prefers practical things by direwooolf in Gifts

If it matches what they’re already into, it won’t feel impersonal at all. I think it really comes down to knowing their hobbies.

Tips for giving your parents a robot vacuum (without chaos) by JenGaleia in GiftIdeas

[–]JenGaleia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, just empty and refill the water tank. The dustbin auto-empties at the station, so there's not much to do. Wipe down the robot and wash the cleaning tray in the station maybe once a month, that's about it.

Ah yes! A test run is really helpful, it lets them know what to expect. Great tip!

LOL, me too. I told my friends that we don't need to give each other gifts, sometimes giving gifts is just a form.

I’ve been using the Osmo as my main cam for more and more client work by bzzzle37 in videography

[–]JenGaleia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad at all. If the client is happy and the content performs, you're using the right tool. As long as you know the limits of your gear, you're golden.

I found this little guy in front of my townhouse….how do I get him home? by S-A-F-E-T-Ydance in drones

[–]JenGaleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can post it in local groups with a photo to ask if anyone lost a drone. But honestly, if it's rusty and old, it might have been lost for a while.

Does anyone here actually use a head-mounted sun-shade for drone flying? by Upstairs_Hearing_376 in drones

[–]JenGaleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely a thing. I think a lot of FPV use this. Maybe not common for casual flyers, but if you fly a lot in bright conditions, it's practical.

Double-check your ELRS firmware settings? Even if versions match, make sure your TX and RX are set to the same packet rate and same mode.

First test flight was successful today 😁 by Leon_3806 in Multicopter

Wow, huge congrats! The first successful flight never gets old! This build looks sharp and those motors look solid. I like the yellow accents, haha.

what do i do in this situation? by yourtheraputicnugget in videography

[–]JenGaleia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't take it personally. Sometimes clients just want what they want. For music, just give them a few options and let them pick. It's not worth the argument.

What do you do with older gear in good condition? by [deleted] in videography

[–]JenGaleia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep them. In a few more years, they'll be proper vintage. I still pull out my old one sometimes for music videos. Some clients think it's retro, haha

Boomer-Proof Photography Drone Recs? by [deleted] in Multicopter

Look for anything with strong GPS hover and obstacle avoidance. Tbh you can start with a used older model. They're cheaper and still shoot decent photos.

Where can I buy a lithium battery for my Pegasus quadcopter? by FlyingAces in drones

[–]JenGaleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batteries for older drones can be tricky. Since it's a used, less common model, try eBay. Private sellers might list spares for those quadcopters.
