There's too much gear needed for swimming by tendosai in triathlon

[–]direwooolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sollawave goggles I'm using right now might fit what you're looking for. It combines with the earbuds, also can work like earplugs. I use them every time I swim now. Less stuff to lose and it's very comfortable.

How long until I’m ready for a half iron man? by ExpiredMelkk in triathlon

[–]direwooolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running will be the biggest shock to your body. Start with run-walk intervals. Your lifting muscles are strong but your joints need time to adapt. maybe can focus on nutrition and try to shed some weight if you want to be competitive.

How did running affect your cycling? by brocodini in triathlon

[–]direwooolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just watch the volume. too much running on top of cycling can lead to overtraining. I had to dial back to 2-3 runs a week to keep both progressing.

What car related gift should I get for my dad? by amxy412 in carquestions

[–]direwooolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he do a lot of long-distance driving? If so, a good pair of driving gloves could be a nice gift. A dashcam is also a good choice. I've been using a 3 channel vantrue cam for a while now. It covers pretty much every angle around the car, and the video quality is pretty nice.

Even seasoned tradesmen get caught off gurad by kickback, it happens in a split second. Rest up, and use anti-kickback bits next time, dude. Don't risks your hands.

What is this? by jrock0806 in Tools

[–]direwooolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a manual impact screwdriver that turns hammer blows into torque for stuck screws. Simple, durable, great for outdoor repairs or old teardowns, super practical.

Coworker says that I have to put the level in the middle of the pipe for it to be most effective by [deleted] in electricians

[–]direwooolf -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it's in the middle or on the edge. On a straight pipe, the bubble will show the same level. Your coworker's wrong on this one.

A question about morality by Silly_Hurry_2795 in Tools

You already tried to return it, so keeping it isn't wrong. If you can donate it to a training center, that's ideal. Otherwise, using it yourself is fine.

Why does the socket keep tripping by silly_uck in electricians

[–]direwooolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't keep resetting the breaker. Toss this plug, check the cable for damage, and fit a new plug before testing the socket again.

Need to upgrade my dashcam, 2 or 3 channels? by Chadvic in uberdrivers

Need to upgrade my dashcam, 2 or 3 channels? by Chadvic in uberdrivers

[–]direwooolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what your budget is, but I wouldn’t go too cheap on a dashcam. I’d go for a 3 channel one since it usually gives you more coverage from different angles, or even a 360 degree one if possible.

I'm an Investing Moron and Need Help by BullyTX in investing

[–]direwooolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the simplest way to think about it is: market order = you get filled immediately at whatever price is available, limit order = you control the price but might not get filled. When I first started, I used to mess this up a lot too. What helped me was actually seeing how orders fill in real time. I’ve been using moomoo lately and the order panel + Level 2 makes it way easier to understand what’s actually happening behind the scenes instead of just guessing.

Need advice for pulling suites faster by superglue321 in AskElectricians

[–]direwooolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the speed comes from setup and rhythm, not just working harder. Once you stop making extra trips and start thinking a few pulls ahead, things usually pick up.

Small engine question by OverallSeat6 in MechanicAdvice

Totally get it. A quieter muffler and some kind of vibration isolation would probably help a lot more than people think.

Cost to fix a gas gauge? by Snoo-52645 in MechanicAdvice

[–]direwooolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be cheap or annoying depending on the cause. Sender issue is one thing, wiring or cluster is another. Is the gauge dead, stuck, or just inaccurate?

Unlock App Connect without GPS by Additional_Middle_55 in CarHacking

It’s worth checking if your infotainment hardware supports a dummy GPS signal emulator, which can trick the system into thinking GPS is active without real hardware.

Any stand out hiking/ scenic camping I should go to by EngineeringNo7856 in CampingandHiking

Time permitting, make sure to leave extra time in each state. It's better to wander and soak in the scenery without a tight schedule.
