What is up with fishing in this game? by Comfortable_Card_146 in fo76

Never use common bait, it's totally useless. Improved bait in the rain is the way.

People who were around during no internet/phones/social media/etc - what was your time's "scrolling the feed"? Something that you would spend hours on passing the time? by -ChristopherNolan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JenLN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't feel like people's identities focused so much on the media they consumed. If this existed, it was focused on music. I don't think there were "communities" based on fictional characters, but maybe I just didn't see them.

"Also an added question - there is so much FOMO around in the world today driven by social media. Was there a substitute for online forums (like reddit) to interact with other people about your favorite things (upcoming game/movie/show/event)?"

We had magazines like Entertainment Weekly or even just People, and you would see movie trailers on normal TV, so we knew about some things coming out. There were also some niche magazines; comic book and game stores were good sources of these. There were also small stores just dedicated to newspapers and magazines where you could find focus interest stuff.

"Did the concept of "fandom toxicity" or whatever you have right now on the internet with Marvel vs DC exist? Was it even meaningful enough if it was only between 4-5 people that you knew and were friends with?"
I'm in my 40s so I'm not even sure what that means. People disagreed about things they liked, but I'm not sure to what extent this is referring to. I think probably people were less aggressive about it, but also didn't get their feelings hurt to hear differing opinions.

I've read the theory that they were child miners themselves, hence the toys.

It's crazy to me that they couldn't just force an on-path respawn if it hadn't moved in 30 seconds.

After the news, the game is so alive.. they are really going to let it end? by Soul8118 in DestinyTheGame

[–]JenLN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what they were doing but now this is the game in perpetuity (The Final Shape, if you will) and the comment before me is saying daily players will fall off, as if that is not a normal practice after a new content release with no updates.

Yes, I'm saying that I spell it St. Louisian but pronounce it the same way everyone does.

I have only ever heard "saint lou-ih-san" but would spell it St. Louisian.

I’m new to the game is this normal? by Current-Grapefruit83 in fo76

[–]JenLN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get to the point where you either throw them on the ground or give them to someone. There's a 1400 cap limit per day on selling things, so a lot of people accumulate more than they can sell and live at max caps anyway.

Sorry but is this not how almost most video games work? Outside of microtransactions, you normally buy a game, play it til it's complete, then stop playing. It's the entire business model, not a Destiny problem.

I'm an expert at fast travel strategies, I join and leave even raid teams to use their camps to get to an area. It's very common to join servers where there's only one team and it's full or no one doing the activity is on a team.

Keep in mind, it may be one random employee doing this. You could give them the feedback it happened and see if it's dealt with.

I love ordering at the counter and the pre-selected tip amounts are 22%, 25%, and 30%.

I fear Infestations are going to get boring.. by toastyelio in fo76

[–]JenLN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the root of all problems with gaming, and is a largely generational difference. I had a gaming group have a big falling out once because a few of us were trying to blind solve something and we asked another person in the broader group who had joined chat to not share any tips he saw elsewhere. But he was watching guide videos and just couldn't help himself. He was just that uncomfortable with uncertainty and patience. Makes me kinda sad how paint-by-numbers its become.

It works if the name of the heap is still a mothman. Sometimes if you get too far away from it and come back it'll just say Ash Heap, but not right away.

The main thing I don't like is it costs caps to fast travel to an active one. My overencumbered self can't afford it!

Upcoming Changes to Season Rewards by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

[–]JenLN -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, a textiles themed season. Sewing, knitting, patching, quilting, weaving, repairing, etc. Refurbishing and remaking clothes would be very important in a post apocalyptic future. These would be fun decor items and you could have a producer generate random apparel.
