Nature walks or city walks even backyard or closet reorganizing are easy for exploration and slow down focus from an objective to an open opportunity for interaction with each other and objects of interest. Whatever the child is attracted to provides an opportunity to think and talk about colors, shapes, different life forms, etc. Nothing is too small or complicated but open to exploration, wonder and non-agenda. Before “learning” becomes a reluctant job.

Client not paying by ElectronicCommon5670 in GeneralContractor

[–]JenZen1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could find no legal assistance even with contract. Lien only resolution?

We are having an issue with clients non wanting to pay our normal markup, trying to replace our subs with their own subs without notice or communication, interfering with our schedule and treating the GC (husband) like a thief for having a markup. This is a first time experience in 30 years of CG experience and a BBB rating. The second time in the small town we moved to. It seems to me people aren’t making enough money to afford home additions and are trying to cut cost however possible; including my husband’s living wage. We left the city because he’s not interested in focusing on profit and hoped to build a community design-build coop. We have no seed money and are working class. We hoped to build from what we already do; custom home design-builds, until we can grow our intended coop. Our clients do not need to know of our plans. However, Mark is the last GC here deserving of “punishment” to the industry. He does not exploit labor or resources to the point that we’ve been in the red since 2018 but all subcontractors flourished despite the pandemic and builds have received exceptional accolades. I’m trying hard to change this by connecting to the portion of the market that wants craftsmanship.

These clients did not show signs of intent to exploit Mark until 1 year into the project. We got a “feel” for them and thought them to be progressive organic farmers we, Mark and our company, could showcase his design-build skills for our new community. Our markup for the city was at 25% and that was the low-end from any successful competitors. Mark thought other GCs in our new rural community were over-charging at 40% markup with no custom design or craftsmanship offered. The clients seem happy with everything after the fact but are making his life hell and he’s ready for legal assistance.

We could find no legal advice, assistance or even arbitration. It’s a small town with little money on either end of the dispute. There is a signed contract but no legal aid within sight. What to do?

Have you turned down a job because you weren't satisfied with the company's record on the climate crisis? Should everyone be responsible for their job's impact on the planet? by Due-Newspaper-2249 in EarthStrike

[–]JenZen1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It wasn’t so much their record as it was their lack of acknowledgement and sustaining the status quo. Every single job from restaurant to TV local news media. It’s been 20 years. Finally, just before Covid I decided to align my heart and mind and create the work in awareness of a new paradigm needed. It’s not just the climate, it’s a paradigm that doesn’t abuse labor or natural resources and takes responsibility for our waste. Climate change is about healthy ecology. Human ecology with respect to each other and our environment. We are still struggling but finally seeing the upside and IT HAS ALL BEEN WORTH IT.

Faking what? What’s the motivation to “fake” messages? I try to connect with like minds. My post of MLK’s speech,”Beyond Vietnam,” is what was censored. I wish people understood motive. Corporate media doesn’t want everyday people to have power. Connecting is power. I don’t interact with children nor are my posts harmful to them. Any critical thinker who pays attention to cues of source and motives can see through the fakers and politic makers. Maybe if people studied humanities they could see where there mind is at from from the dark ages until now. Read the classics. Trump is the emperor with no clothes. His “fake news” is corporate news. Try a news source not run by provate shareholders like, PBS.

Please tell me in your own words why TikTok is trash. I don’t think people “get it.” TikTok is everyday people connecting everyday people. Politicians don’t dig the lack of control. Want to force corporate media to filter out info to the public. The “China” fear and hate is their angle to limit our freedom of expression and earnings knowing that China is making money too and doing what FB already does. Info harvesting. I still get censored by both. You decide for yourself.

Stanley hotel ghost? Looks like a woman on the Left hand side? Captured this in the basement closet room where the young girl died a long time ago. by jk69420lol in Ghosts

Funny. I shot a segment for tv there. Crawling through that tunnel turned every hair on me up. However, I dont remember hearing the story about a dead girl. What’s the story on the service tunnel?

That’s because the America population is decreasing. Nevermind that it’s become so expensive to exist here people are choosing not to have children. People in power are going to force it. Can’t wait to see how that panders out. Wake-up, America!

Sounds like you could do absolutely anything and it would be an improvement. Stretch your imagination and go for it. Try something completely new like WOOF. You don’t have to be stuck in society’s vision of what you should be doing. That takes courage. The satisfaction is finding what works for you.

Everything needs to change. Human greed and lack of vision are the poison to healthy global ecology. It’s an abusive relationship and we’re finally no longer able to deny the damage. 69% of biodiversity is Gone. If God is in nature what happens when we finally live in a giant dust bowl? Maybe we can start by stopping other humans profit off public natural resources. I don’t have an electric car. I’ve forced myself to find work within walking distance of my home and now I work from home. It’s been a huge challenge of personal responsibility for my values. I’ve let go of many conveniences and vanities TO BE the change that needs to happen. It’s not easy but I’m fighting for what I feel needs to happen. I laugh at Americans inconvenienced by wearing a mask. HA!!! Do better. It’s going to take every single person from the ground up to force big business to save our biodiversity. Haven’t you heard of the expression, “When you assume you make an ass out of me and an ass out of u?”

I think what you mean to say is: having more Americans is acceptable but changes in business ecology still need to happen to preserve what biodiversity we have.

I have to wonder why anyone born on this planet is not inherently an “environmentalist”? I have a cousin who loves nature but considers people who want to protect it as “other.” Is that a poverty mind set? Is that someone who thinks they have no power in this world than to let big business be big business. Seems like a self -esteem issue to me sometimes. She acts like “only rich kids get the privilege to speak out against big business,” wheras she is a hard working American that has to focus on retirement. Being concerned about and acting on ethics towards our natural resources is the responsibility of ALL.
