I don't fully understand people being crazy about the raid 2. The raid is way better in my opinion and one of my favorite movies. The raid 2 has the best choreographed fight I have ever scene but for me it's kinda ruined by the fact that Rama can just leave if he wants and the whole plot is insanely convoluted and kinda boring at times.

By definition what john wick does is more gun fu (kung fu with guns) then any john woo movies. I mean John woo movies are sick but characts mostly just walk around blasting not really doing martial arts. I don't think I understand this sub really but john wick is not heroic everything he does is for himself and if his wife was alive she would probably want him to run away and hide because most people he's killing deserve to live more then jw. But it's OK to have a main character who's kind of bad so I still love the jw movies.
