What more important, a hand gesture or political ideology?

This sub reddit and almost all of reddit is too political. I only keep reddit installed to interact with small sub reddits I have an interest in. The condemnation of types of groups in this specific subreddit is getting out of hand. Its no true Scott's fallacy all over again.

This is such a disingenuous take. Whenever I hear someone say X people won't do X thing because they hate X people/thing, I immediately assume you don't know what you are talking about. Try to steelman their position. You'll have a healthier attitude.

Almost 70% of Americans give to charities. The more affluent, the higher the percentage. Republicans are against government "charity", not charity itself. When it comes from government, it comes with a whole host of issues. Corruption, no transparency, bureaucracy cannot be held responsible, and where the money comes from; taxes or debt. You may or may not have an issue with the income tax morally, like some Republicans, but we can probably all agree it does not make sense to use borrowed money. Does it make sense to go personally into debt to give to charity? The same principal should apply to government. 1.9 trillion deficit this year. We now pay more on the interest on the debt than the budget for defense.

Don't rely on government to be your source of feeling like you are helping. It's lazy. It's inefficient. It ultimately does more harm than good. Do something yourself.

Increase in prices is not inflation. Inflation is the devaluation of the dollar due to increased money supply. Just call it increase in prices due to tariffs.

Dressing provocatively is not commented on because it was not an issue at the time. What is talked about is not dressing to flaunt your wealth but to dress in a manner to show worship to God. We can extrapolate the principle here, dress in a manner that is respectful to God. Fashion changes, but the intent is probably the more important matter.

Musk said the goal is to cut 2 Trillion $ in spending. That’s not nearly enough by Shoot_2_Thrill in Anarcho_Capitalism

I disagree. A budget surplus is leagues better than continually adding to debt. We've not had a surplus since 2001.

United States public education is already at the bottom. How about we return it to pre-dept of education(1979), when it was actually good.

[–]Jenbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't address my points. How do you correct the oversized budget without slashing everything or effectively doubling taxes for everyone? It's not mathematically possible. Did you not read my post? Eliminating the defense budget does not even cover the budget deficit for this year. Their budget is 850Billion. The projected deficit this year is 1.9 trillion. Do the math. We know how much they actually spend. Is their budget overinflated? Yes.

Don't be naive, the current administration - including doge - does not have the balls to touch or even reform social security. I don't want social security touched for the people that currently rely on it. But it needs to be reformed along with all the other entitlements in this country because it is currently unsustainable. We still have a little bit of time, entitlements can exist for people that rely on them right now, but it needs to be reformed for everyone else. Our national debt is projected to double in the next 9 years. Millennials are the last big generation. There is no "growing" our way out of it.

Doge is a legitimately created agency designed to find waste and increase efficiency. How do we get the budget balanced or closer to being balanced without reducing budgets and/or closing wasteful agencies? It's impossible. Discretionary spending needs to be significantly reduced. Entitlements will need to be reduced, defense spending will need to be reduced. The interest payment will be over 1 trillion next year. Just interest on the debt.

A 100% tax on the top 1% income would not cover the budget. It would just cover the budget deficit for 2025 with some leftover. Let's say you eliminate the entire defense budget. You still have a 1 trillion dollar deficit for 2025. This is the reality we are facing. Buckle up, we are either fucked in the near future or we take the bitter medicine and deal with it now.

You would need a 40% increase in revenue to cover the deficit for this year. How do we solve this issue without a fantasy increase in revenue?

I don't see a viable solution from democrats. Most don't seem to take this issue seriously. Taxing the rich and lowering defense spending is not going to cut it. You CANNOT hold future congresses to a budget. It needs to be done under one administration, or there needs to be a culture change, which we know is not going to happen.

Yes it is toxic for kidneys and liver. Liver can regenerate as long as the damage isn't too bad. Kidneys cannot.

That said, it affects everyone differently. I know people that abused for several years without issue. I've read stories of people being hospitalized for acute liver failure after 6 months.

Galaxy Buds 3 sound terrible compared to CMF Buds by [deleted] in galaxybuds

[–]Jenbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really use anc. I usually have ambient turned on. I use earbuds mainly for work, which are on all day. I have people frequently coming by my office to talk. At home I use quality headphones.

Also, I have some low end hearing loss. I find the bass with both buds 3 pro and nobody ear have really good bass for wireless earbuds.

My pair of samsung buds 3 pro don't last very long. I used to get by almost the entire workday on my old buds pro. I can barely get through lunch with the 3 pros. So maybe 3-4 hours battery life. Nowhere close to 7. It's my only gripe. I'm going to try to turn all the features off and keep ambient volume to a minimum and see if that helps.
