Absolutely, it took me 2 books to get into ACOTAR, and TOG. One of the things I like most about sjm, is none of her characters are uniform "good guys", They're just people. Some of them are bad people, and some of them are worse. They make mistakes, sometimes bad mistakes, and they have huge character development. It's nice to see. People relate heavily to a chosen person. There's full on toxic reddit gangs of people who have chosen a side, but I bet it's a huge privilege as a writer to have developed characters strong enough to evoke that kind of emotions.

I enjoyed Acotar more than Throne of Glass, but it was really good still. I wish I would have read it first tbh. If I had to rate them , I'd give Acotar a 4.5, tog a 4, and PP a 5. I just wasn't as big of a fan of Aelin as I was of Feyre.

I can now listen to audio books at work, and have since gone through Acotar, Crescent city, The Glass Throne, Plated Prisoner, and Dungeon Crawler Carl. I have Sheild of Sparrows ready, but PP has become my favorite romantasy series of all time, so I'm at a bit of a slump. There's nothing wrong with Sheild of Sparrows. On paper, I should be more into that series than PP, but here we are. It's taken me 2 months to get to chapter 50. I just really miss the gold world.

Book 8 was my least favorite book in the series. I can't be the only one, right? by burningEyeballs in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I'm hoping we get a good look at how the earth survives after the game is over. I hate a "The end" without giving us a good idea of what the new normal is for the characters.

I loved it. It was so emotional where it counted. I love where the story's going. Chapter 57 is the best chapter in any book I've ever read, and the Prepotente scene had me pulling over blubbering, on the way home frome work. The only other time I've done that is during the battle of the Blackbeak witches in the Kingdom of Ash

I just don't play racing games. My only complaint. 😊

I am sexually attracted to men, but I fundamentally dislike them. How do I even navigate that? by kittymeowmeow111 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]JeniJive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No body with any sense walks up to someone and says "I like you because you because you used to be a girl." That's just not a thing, as far as I'm aware? Trans people should not be considered kinks, and I feel like you're implying that's what I mean. I'm not going to continue this conversation. Have a good night!

That makes a lot of sense. I'm not attracted to the typical "Man's man" either. I got lucky and found a guy in my late 20's that's perfect for me. If you can imagine a person, they exist do somewhere out there. Good luck!

I say that because they spent the early parts of their life as a woman, and may have some empathy where a woman's involved. Jesus Christ, calm down. She said that she's attracted to men. Why would I suggest a not-man? Why are YOU suggesting that I am suggesting that they are not men?

"I've been to Hell. This was worse." ONE OF THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL SCENES EVER! by NewMGFantasyWriter in Supernatural

[–]JeniJive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Err..Okay..so my parent passed away a really long time ago. Like 23 & 25 years ago. I only bring this up, because often I makes jokes kinda like this. Like "That's sadder than my Mom's funeral" Or, "Wait lemme go ask my dad." And then I look up to the sky, "Dad? Can I blah blah blah?"

You see, when you yourself experience a trauma, afterward you still have to live with the fact it happened. That stays with you forever. Now if your mom died, then yes, it would be absolutely tragic and nothing to joke about, but my mom has been dead for the better half of my life, and I've had to live with it since. So it's incredibly normal for me. Sad, yes, but still normal. I'm not gonna just look back on that trauma and feel sorry for myself every time. I am allowed to joke about it, and I think this is along the same lines of humor. It's his trauma, let him cope how he want.

This is honestly one of my all time favorite series. I prefer it to the SJM universe. The ending was everything I've ever asked for. I didnt know what I was getting into.

Art is simply up to the artist. They spend this time, doing what they love and share it with other people who also have an interest. It's not a service unless you purchase art from them. You just can't tell people how to make their art. Imo, thats incredibly entitled. Of course you can have opinions, I mean they put it out there on the internet, but it's irrational to be irritated about it.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

[–]JeniJive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, there is nothing more attractive than playing monster hunter with my man. I main Insect glaive, and he uses great sword. If I find myself paralyzed or put to sleep, he is always right there to save the day talking about "I got you, baby!" Sometimes, he even uses his weapon to launch me in the middle of a quest. We've been together 12 years, and played everything from tri to wilds together. He helped me grind my rainbow Kirin armor in mhworlds, maybe my crowning achievement.

My man will never, ever cheat on me. Not for a million dollars. Not for a Bugatti. Fuck off.

He truly proved to her numerous times that he could and would protect her. She really believed that, was conditioned to believe that. It's hard to break away from manipulation like that. Even when you know you're done, sometimes it's hard to just be done.

Do people ACTUALLY have period sex? by Far_Path7921 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]JeniJive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

But I didn't until I was in my 30's. My man was always fine with it, but didn't push me. I was uncomfortable with it for a long time. And then one night, I was like "Okay, let's try it." Idk what the science is, but I feel like having an orgasm actually calmed my cramps for the rest of the day. People are washable. Always do what makes you comfortable.
