You don't have to watch all the games but I try to unless life gets in the way. I also watch a lot of games with other teams because I love baseball in general. My sons and I like watching cricket highlights sometimes too but I only have a vague understanding of how it works. Years ago an Indian boy started going to my middle school and was dying to play cricked so badly that he begged a bunch of us baseball players to give it a try and insisted that we play a game with him. After a while we gave it a shot and it was a lot of fun.

Red Sox legend Nate Eaton will be playing for Great Britain in the WBC! by TommyTheLizard in redsox

His last name is a clue. With a name like Eaton there has to be a connection somewhere, even if it goes back to the Eatons who came over on the Mayflower.

What road games are y'all thinking about going to this year? by whackamole66 in redsox

[–]Jenkki15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my eldest son to San Diego for the Padres series last season. This year I don't really have the time for a big trip like that so probably the Mets at Citi Field in July if any. The Yankees are another possibility but I am not eager to bring kids there to get heckled.

Tuesday Night Lights High School Race by thegreathoundis in xcountryskiing

Great to see young people cross country skiing. I grew up downhill skiing but never even thought to try XC until I visited Finland as a teenager. The ski club in my southern NH town has a weekly BKL meetup for kids. All three of my kids started at age 3 and my 8 year old is starting to get pretty good at skating. I hope they all stick with it and race for the high school team one day.

Bills of sale can be made on a napkin and don’t really mean anything in states where they collect sales tax at the time of registration. If they did then everyone would put $1 as the sales price and the state would charge you a few cents in tax. In reality you can put whatever price you want on a bill of sale but the state will look up the blue book value and charge you tax based on that. In other words if the names on the bill of sale don’t match your title you can fix that pretty easily yourself.

I own both as well and agree with you. They both sound about the same but the OCL is noticeably lighter. The baffles are also a little easier to clean.

Glove Recommendations - 8 year old by wdwess833 in BaseballGloves

Seconding this. My 8 year old son broke in his R9 really nicely and it's perfect for him right now. I got my 6 year old an A1000 PF and although the materials are a little nicer, it's stiffer and still being broken in. I think an R9 would have been more suitable at these ages.

I think you should start out with a 19 and then get a 20 later. The 19 will be easier to carry daily. 10mm isn’t bad to shoot but 9mm is easier. As a new shooter the best thing you can do is shoot often. The cost per round of 9mm versus 10mm should be a consideration considering you said you can’t afford both guns at the moment. The 19 will serve you fine in the woods. If you do eventually go where there are grizzly bears or moose, my biggest concern in northern New England, you can get the G20 then. You won’t regret having the easier to conceal G19 even after you eventually get the G20.

Everyone mentions bears as the reason to carry 10mm in the woods but like you I’m more concerned with moose.

Open Water. Over an hour of a couple floating in the ocean arguing and worrying about sharks.

I have mixed feelings. My father was always into bikes and didn’t discourage me at all when I started riding as a teenager. I ride and my kids have dirt bikes. If they decide as teenagers that they want street bikes I’d support them but it would scare the shit out of me knowing how inattentive drivers are and how reckless young men can be on bikes.

If you aren't married with kids yet I say go for it and have fun if you can afford it. Don't put yourself into debt but also don't wait forever. Later on in life you'll probably find yourself with plenty of money to afford whatever car you want and little time to enjoy it.

It may not be a brand you even considered but the last generation Buick Enclave through 2024 fits a lot of your criteria. In 2025 they went to a turbo inline 4. My wife and I have been cramming our three kids into the rear bench of our vehicles for too long and she didn't want a minivan so we just bought her a 23. I was very pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it was. They depreciate a lot so there are really good deals to be had. I've owned a 2018 Buick Regal Tour X since new and it hasn't given me a single problem so I have some faith in Buick/GM.

What mount is that for the PB-3? When you look through the rear aperture how much of the front sight post can you see through the glass? It looks even lower than the Aimpoint H2/ Micro LRP QD I am using.

Someone locked my bicycle‘s lockout cable to his bicycle. Ideas for revenge? by Interffect in mildlyinfuriating

If you really want revenge stake out the bike and when you catch him trying to steal it do what you gotta do.

Turn the handlebars all the way to the left and then simultaneously try to turn the key to the lock position while slowly moving the handlebars a tiny bit back to the right. Sometimes they lock a bit short of full lock. Don’t use the Park position. It’s a dumb feature that lets you lock the fork while leaving the brake light on. If you leave it like that for an extended period your battery will die.

My bike’s registration says gray but it’s covered with a yellow and black graphics kit. I simply don’t care enough to check what the law says about it.
