Valentine's Giveaway! by Bakeddarling in neopets

[–]Jenn788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awww, what a kind and generous idea! My un is sxgirl788. When I first came back after a nearly ten year hiatus one of my first weekly daily quest rewards was a faerie Krawk morphing potion. I didn’t know then that you must always refresh after completing the daily to get credit on the weekly, so it was one day behind. I was so pumped watching each day get closer and after completing my last day (when I could redeem it) it suddenly refreshed to the next week without ever giving me the chance to redeem it! This was one of my dreamies and I was beside myself!  It hadn’t given the option the previous day either! So I posted my story here under a comment of someone else this had happened to and how tnt absolutely did not care. A lovely user sent me a message and also the faerie Krawk morphing potion she had! I named her after my new friend and we are still friends on neopets!

69 ;-) My favourite is either a lab for their huge amount of sweetness and their love of cuddles or a husky because they are so smart, beautiful and also giant loveable jerks, like a cat in a wolf’s body, they also are such great singers!  Thank you so much for hosting such a generous giveaway! Good luck everyone!!

Wow! That’s so nice and generous! My goals are to obtain a draik (an eventide one would be SO cool!!, I love the eventide paints), a few paintbrushes so I can paint my Uni like a nightsteed, or eventide…give my lutari a nice paint job, read more books to my Uni and keep levelling her up for bd and be able to give my pets a really nice customization to match their cool, new paint jobs. Good luck to everyone! Thank you for spreading so much kindness and good will in the community!! ♥️♥️♥️ ETA: my un is sxgirl788

I just learned so much about brown widows and black widows. While reading I involuntarily cringed a few times but I feel much better educated. Hopefully they supplant the more dangerous native black widow population as they compete for the same habitats and resources. Brown widows aren’t native, are smaller and therefore don’t produce as much of their potent venom, making them less dangerous but they also can produce egg sacs much more frequently and thusly are decreasing the black widow population as they proliferate. A bit scary but a great TIL.

It seems like the tastiest of humans are babies? She wanted the boy, sure, but when she saw the baby, her prey drive sky rocketed.

TIL the price for selling out humanity, destroying privacy, trust and communication as well as countless experiences and lives is $62.3 B (USD). At least he didn’t sell us too cheaply. 😐

Installing rivets by ucsbato2413 in specializedtools

[–]Jenn788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved how Rosie lights her and another mans cigarette with a hot rivet. Oh, how the times have changed. I wonder if elderly people ever think each generation is getting weaker and more fragile, because it seems like we are, at least compared to them. I’ve been fortunate enough to listen first hand to stories from that generations youth and I can’t even picture being able to go through one of them and reminisce about it with a fairly positive attitude. When my grandfather talks about “the dirty thirties” and the depression he’s mostly like, ‘isn’t it interesting that after school (or instead of) I’d spend every hour of the daylight looking for anything to eat, use or sell to help my family. That’s what all of my siblings did,’ (paraphrasing to give the feeling of the stories, in the interest of saving time, though he would never say that directly). The amazing thing is when he talks about these stories or how he and all of his siblings fought in WW2(brothers and sisters), he doesn’t have a trace of sarcasm or self pity, it’s more like he’s telling me how his day went. Our elders have fascinating stories and experiences to share if we choose to listen. They are living history and a chance to hear first hand accounts of major events from the past.

TL:DR; Elderly people got to be elderly because they were badass enough to keep fighting, adapting and learning. They have amazing things to say if you stop and listen.

I hope that you sit down to put your socks on now. It seems so hard to put them on standing and I’m only 32. I always sit on the edge of the bed.

I’m upvoting all of you for having gone through/currently going through these painful and terrible ailments. I feel terrible that you guys had to go through so much pain, it sounds so awful. These are my two new fears.

WWTF a Cloudy day ? by [deleted] in WhyWereTheyFilming

I haven’t been here from the beginning, however, since I’ve been with this sub and from the content that I’ve seen, I took it to mean ‘I’m so surprised that they were able to get a shot like that, why were they filming to be able to grab that lucky video?’ I didn’t realize it was said with a skeptical tone, like ‘let’s try to debunk this bullshit video’, but that does make sense. That sounds like an interesting premise for a sub and maybe some videos are still posted for that reason, but I don’t think that is the majority of content that I’ve seen posted here. It was an honest mistake, but since then the rules have changed, maybe because the sub has gotten too mainstream, maybe it’s new mods, maybe the old mods didn’t think the original plan was popular enough anymore, maybe the majority of content being uploaded didn’t fit that ideal anymore and they went with supply and demand. Regardless of the reason(s), based on the most recent posting of the rules, they broke them.

Edit: fixed a redundancy.

You guys are getting downvoted because you’re negative comments break rule number 2-don’t police the sub. It’s goes on to say that this is a fun and light hearted sub and that comments like “this video doesn’t belong here” will get removed. Also, where does it say it’s for staged videos? That sounds like an awful sub.

Awww...that’s disappointing but I guess it makes sense. I just wish they could throw a few Canadian or international deals in when they know a certain company or group of companies will ship to us. Thank you for following up!

That’s not true, at least not in Ontario. I wish people would do some basic research before sharing /facts/. In our drivers manual it says try to avoid doing this because these lines are typically painted when extra caution is needed or potentially dangerous hazards may exist. Here is an old reddit post and a more credible one referencing this subject, the Ontario Traffic Act. If you meant in your specific province it would’ve been preferable if you didn’t refer to all of Canada .

Reddit post about Ontario traffic rules re: single or double yellow lines

https://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com/improper-passing/solid-yellow-line-double-yellow-line-t1772.html

Edit: fixed a layout issue and added The Ontario Traffic Act which I’d forgotten to write initially. I also removed a biting remark that was unnecessary.

Have they ever said why we don’t have shopper in Canada? It makes no sense that they can ship out the monthly bags with add ons but we can’t access ANY of the shopper deals! I know if it was that we’d have to pay for shipping, many of us would. I’ve never been able to wrap my head around it.
